Rating: Summary: This is not Danielle Steels' best work!!! Review: I was extremely disappointed in this book. Having been an avid fan of the author, I expected much, much more from her. She never really developed the characters, rather she skimmed the surface, not making it possible for the reader to develop any connection with these people. I'm glad I picked this book up in paperback, and didn't pay for the more expensive hardcover edition. I think that it is very obvious in "Five Days In Paris", that this is Danielles' 36th book. If you have enjoyed her books in the past, you will be unpleasantly surprised with this one. I just could not get into this book at all.
Rating: Summary: Not her best work Review: I was very disappointed with this book. Danielle Steel's books seems to have less depth to them as each one is published. I didn't get totally involved in the book and want to learn more about the people in it as I usually do with her books. Usually, I don't want one of her books to end because I want to keep reading about the characters' lives, but this one didn't fall into that category! Of course, true Steel fans have to read all of her books no matter what! I do!
Rating: Summary: Its Never to Late to be Happy Review: I would gladly recommend Five Days in Paris by Danielle Steel for those in need of hope either in love or life. This romantic novel has very vivid imagery, you'll feel like you're there. The reading level in this book is a bit difficult but at the end you get what the author meant by it. The reason I enjoyed this book very much is because the author gets you to care about the characters in a way I haven't in the past. She has you anticipate that the two characters should meet, when? how? what will they say? This is a great novel and again I would recommend this book for those in need of a great story. Its never too late to be happy.
Rating: Summary: very good book Review: I've read only twenty pages of it and so far I like it very much. I would recommend it highly. I'm not much of a Romance reader but I think I'm starting to like Danielle Steel. Tell me something, how does she write so much and in such little time
Rating: Summary: Predictable and boring Review: If you can make it past the first few chapters to meet all the characters, then you don't need to finish the book because you can predict the rest. I think Ms. Steel needs to spend more time coming up with a new idea and less time trying to crank out a book every 6 months.
Rating: Summary: Mildly Entertaining Review: It was not the worst Steel that I have read, but definitely not the best, either. The one word that would describe it is Predictable.
Rating: Summary: NOT HER BEST!!! Review: It's a love story without the reader feeling the love!
Rating: Summary: Danielle Steel's most wonderful romatic novel. Review: Most of DS's characteristically gorgeous pretty female characters love and lose and lose again before finding happiness in the final chapter. Our lovers, Peter and Olivia, stay together from start to finish (though only in thought at times), and madly gloriously in love. Their first meeting when they eventually confide in each other (after many glances from Peter at the very pretty lady), they hold hands and she snuggles against his shoulder. Chapter 5 is the highlight. Peter searches for his love, finds her and she's overjoyed to see him, and the fact he's taken the trouble to find her. Their short time together is so full of joy as they romp playfully in each other's company. Their togetherness is electric and permeates wonderfully through the magic of these pages. They shyly spend the night together, he on the floor in her tiny room and holding hands together they drift off to sleep. Throughout the story, troubles affect both of their lives, and in the end when Peter loses all, except his integrity, she's there for him, appearing from nowhere, a vision bringing joy to his heart as for the last time they know they have each other. If you have a gorgeous lover, this story will bring tears of happiness to your eyes. One of DS's best romances. AS/JL/459.
Rating: Summary: Nora Roberts Rediscovered Review: Ms. Roberts once again proves to be a powerful writer and now she has demonstrated her insight into the problems of a new drug application (NDA) as well as shown the inner strenght of her main character. I rarely read a book more than once; Five Days... was an exception.
Rating: Summary: Nice and exciting romance. Very close to real life! Review: The book took me to the suffering of a very devote wife to a politician who would not hesitate to use her in a very callous way. The fact that she was able to find love, and strong enough to fight for it in the end is heart warming. I'm a regular reader of Steel's and found this book to be quite romantic.
