Summary: Memorable Character and Story
Review: As I am D.S. fun, I absolutely loved reading this book. Though I have read several other books, this one was the best of all. I guess because I found so many similarities with this main character Paxton and me, such as interests and family background. She is so young and enthusiastic. I also cried three times. 1. when her first boyfriend passed away by accident. 2. How merciful Paxton is to care his second deceased boyfriend and try not to spread information to his wife overseas. 3. when her co-worker's lover and her child commit suicide for hopeless future. The book was so inspirational that it made me think to go overseas to find truth as a journalist.

Summary: A great way to change your perspective of life........
Review: I first read this book when I was 19yrs old, at that age you think that you own the world and that life is there for your taking. After reading Message from Nam, my total outlook of life changed, the feelings that the book brought out in me changed drastically, life was no longer fun fun fun, the book touched me in many ways.

The characters are potrayed in a very realistic way which was quite a surprise since I feel that in some of DS books character reality is lacking.

Paxton Andrews shows us what I am sure lots of girls her age had to go through when growing up in the era prior and following the Vietnam war - letting go of someone you love, and then making the full turn to find love again. The journey made to Vietnam, the pain of losing your loved one and the recovery of finding love again that Paxton makes in order to get to the end, is both fascinating and heart renching, the book never left me until I had turned the last page. I had a sorrowful smile on my lips when I put the book down, leaving me with many feelings. Feelings of gratitude and contentment that Paxton had finally found what she was looking for but at the same time sad that she had to lose so much to get there.

Before reading Message from Nam reading was just something to do when I was bored, now it has become a addiction, I now read at least five - eight books a month (I am now a mother and full time employee - I always make time to read though !).

Thanks Danielle for making me grow up ......

Summary: Message from Nam
Review: In this book, a young blonde named Paxton Andrews, wanted to go to Viet Nam in search of answers as to why her fiancee Peter Wilson was killed in battle. There she met a married young man named Bill Quinn. They fell in love with each other and spent about a year with each other. Then, one day, Bill was checking out a Viet Cong tunnel when he was shot and killed. Paxton wanted to take back all the stuff that she gave him so that his wife wouldn't find out and grieve even more. Soon after he died, she fell in love with Bill's sargent Tony Campabello. At first, they seemed like an unlikly couple, but they soon grew to love each other. Tony was soon drafted to the other part of the island and they soon sent word to Paxton that Tony was missing in action. Paxton went home and met Tony's son Joey. they soon grew to like each other, just as Tony had loved Paxton. Paxton and Joey each knew that Tony was not dead but alive and in a Viet Cong prison. Paxton went to the airport to witness the realese of the P.O.W.s. Tony was not among them. Paxton took her last flight to Viet Nam. When she got there, she noticed that the island had more craters than it did three years ago. When she got there, the North Viet Nam was attacking the south. The US told every American citizan to get out and Paxton included. While trying to get to the helicopter, an old vietnamese man grabbed her arm. She immediatly knew that it was Tony.
The reason why I choose this book is because I had nothing else to read. Plus, this book looked really good. I picked this book up because the cover. I didn't know if the book was any good or not. I mean, I no one in my family seemed to have read it. I now know that my choice was a good one.
My favorite parts of the book were the parts with the war scenes and gory deatails( call me weird). I just loved the details of the war and the way that Danielle Steel writes. My least favorite parts of the book was the parts the gives details about her having sexual intercourse with Peter, Bill, and Tony. I found that part very gross! I disliked all that nasty writing. Some people call it a beauiful thing, but I call it just plain GROSS! This is what I think about this book.

Summary: Amazing
Review: It's amazing, as I look at my collection of all 50-some DS books, I want to re-read them! If only I had the time...
If you've never read her, try one. Depends on what you like, if you like "classic 80's and early 90's"- start with her earlier works, if not, try one of her newer. I don't know anyone who doesn't get hooked though.

Summary: VERY MOVING...ONE OF DANIELLE STEEL'S BEST
Review: This book was absolutely awesome. I loved it! I have read about 20 of Danielle Steel's books, but I have just read this one. I have never cried so much reading a book before! I recommend this book to anyone who is a true romantic or a Danielle Steel fan. Once again, I am blown away by her work.

Summary: Sad story
Review: This is a sad story, of course all war stories are sad, but lose two lovers in almost no time must be very difficult, the book is a page turner, but I think that at the end of the book, when you really know the end, that end is written in to many pages, and that takes away some interest in the book.
The life of Paxton was sad since the beginning till she found her lover, but maybe that make her so strong and so open mind to do whatever she has to do, but losing lovers and friends is very difficult to everyone.
I was to young when this war was, but I remember that everybody said that the US didn't have to be there, with this book I can confirm that.

Summary: My all time favorite Danielle Steel book!!!
Review: This is my all time favorite Danielle Steel book... I even loved the movie, but it did not do it enough justice. Of all her books, this is the only one I could read more than once (I don't even like to watch movies more than once), so that says a lot to me. Paxton is a very strong and amazing character, that continuously goes through one tragedy after another. I cried and cried and cried during this book... don't read it in public, read it alone with ten to twelve boxes of kleenex!!! If you are one of those people that like to believe there is only one true love for everyone... Danielle Steel is not your author... she understand that there is a lot of good in different people, and you can fall in love with many of them... and each one will give you a different direction of your life... not necessarily better or worse.

(Zoya is definitely a close second) It has a fascinating storyline and the characters are so well developed you feel like you are right there with them, seeing the war and everything that went with it, through their eyes.
