Rating: Summary: Badly out of control Review: Although the narrative is clear and simple, I found the plot of this best-selling book to circle and shoot off in all directions. Worse than that, though, were the characters. They would progress to a certain point and then turn around, take a couple of skips, and reemerge totally unrecognizable and unrealistic. The most blatant of these was a character (I don't want to spoil it, but watch out here) who is a very good guy, then becomes a spouse beater/rapist, and then suddenly a good guy again. Excuse me? And what's this with golden retrievers living to be twenty? Why doesn't this lead character demonstrate any responsibility for contraception? And a woman who has held no jobs before suddenly becomes the best secretary in the Senate? There is a leap of faith in all good fiction, but here my faith stumbled, fell, and finally gave up before I was even halfway through. Imho: very bad soap opera. I hope the next book pays more attention to these most crucial of writing points: plot and character.
Rating: Summary: A brilliant read Review: This was Fern at her best. I couldn't put it down and I hope there is a follow up.She has a wide U.S. following but I live in England and work in a library and she is very popular here.
Rating: Summary: Tragedy with a happy ending! Review: "Finders Keepers" was the first real novel I have ever read. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me interested. Fern Michaels has a really unique since of writing, one of which I like. I'm looking forward to reading "Sara's Song".
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down Review: This is the first of many books I plan to read by Ms.Michaels. It was wonderful. I cheered and cried. Excellent reading.
Rating: Summary: Best book I ever read in my life. Review: This is without a doubt the best book I've ever read in my life and I read all the time. Thank you for a wonderful weekend of entertainment.
Rating: Summary: One of a kind book! Review: I just finished reading this book today. I can truthfully say it was one of a kind. I loved it! It could happen! That's what's so scary. I loved the way this author dealt with the characters to make them so believable. I will recommend this to all my friends.
Rating: Summary: This is the best book I've ever read in my entire life!!!!!! Review: I'm one of those people who reads constantly. I've read all this author's works and this is the best to date. I cried buckets. I giggled. I laughed outright and then I cried some more. This book was so real, so down to earth, so mind boggling I read it twice. I have to question if the other people who posted notices on this book read the same book I read. They don't get any better than Finders Keepers. This is definitely a "keeper" which means it never gets loaned out. Ever! Super, colossal book! I recommend it to everyone. Thanks for a great book. You have a fan in me for life.
Rating: Summary: One Of The Best Books I Have Ever Read Review: Fern Michaels is an excellent storyteller. I could not put this one down. I was really rooting for Tanner in the beginning, and was dissappointed when he didn't live up to my expectations. I was so glad that Jessie/Hannah finally did meet her real parents. I am a librarian at a public library in Lytle Texas and have recommended this book to people of all ages and the vote is always the same...excellent. Keep up the great work Fern, and never never quit writing.
Rating: Summary: Boring in the middle. Review: I found the dialogue very boring. The beginning and the end were good with a lull in the middle. Not the typical Fern Michaels book.
Rating: Summary: Insults my intelligence Review: I just couldn't buy the whole premise of this book. Why would Thea and her husband keep the child when, with all their millions they could simply adopt? It just didn't make sense. I also found the characters undeveloped and flat, the dialog trite. I could feel no sympathy or emotion for any of the characters. I could care less what happens to them since most of them had no redeeming qualities. Hannah/Jessie was not very intelligent and seemed to make decisions willy nilly. Overall, this was a dissappointing read. Don't even bother with this one.
