Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: Who are those people posting reviews with vitriolic fingers? Obviously people who shouldn't be reading books. I found Celebration to be exactly that, a celebration. To me it was a warm, breast-hugging book that tugged at every emotion I have. I absolutely adored each character, each incident and every single page. I kept waiting for Logan to get 'his' and he got it in the end. I know people like the Kristine in the story and I also know a few Logans. The Woodies of the world are few and far between but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. Thank you, Fern Michaels for an outstanding read, one I will read again and again.
Rating: Summary: MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE AUTHOR DOES IT AGAIN Review: Someone asked me the other day who my favorite author is and I didn't hesitate to answer that it was Fern Michaels. I have read every book she ever wrote and have been a fan for 20-25 years. Her books never disappoint me and I truly loved Celebration. As usual, I couldn't put it down. I bad mouthed Logan the entire time. Yes, she was nuts to let him run her life all those years, turning everything over to him, not paying attention to details, and at times she made me crazy, but that was part of the fun of the read. What's wrong with you people that have to take criticism to the next level? So maybe a few of you liked it less than other titles, but do you have to go on and on about it. Appreciate her for what she is, the best women's fiction author around. I loved it Fern, keep them coming.
Rating: Summary: Fern Michaels is a pseudonym Review: Fern Michaels is a pseudonym for Mary Kuczkir and Roberta Anderson. If you notice, a lot of the reviews on Amazon are by Mary Kuczkir. No wonder this book has an average of 4 stars. I would have given it zero stars but the scale wouldn't allow for that.
Rating: Summary: A Cabin Fever Read Review: If you are a true Fern Michaels fan you will love this book as I did. For me it was a quick two day read. I found the characters believable and learned to loathe Logan almost from the beginning and was waiting for him to get his due. I had no trouble visualizing the house, grounds or the barn where the Yorkies were raised. As always it took me on a pleasant escape away from the every day real world.
Rating: Summary: Celebration Review: This book was amazing. The plots kept coming and I couldn't put it down. It was a little bit long, and repetive, but her overall style is personally appealling to me. I felt like I knew Kristene and when I was finished, I felt almost sad, that it was over, and I wouldn't be able to read more about her. The ending was great, and I really enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: Too long, unbelievable, but at least entertaining Review: This is the second novel by Fern Michaels that I have read and I definitely agree that while I get hooked by the book jackets, she tends to go on far too long. This book could have been about 150 pages less and been much better. While I enjoyed the story for the most part, I found myself groaning that anyone could be so stupid as Kristine and let her swindling husband back in her life after he cheated her out of her money and left her high and dry. While some might view it as compassion, I think it was just a little far fetched. Woodie was a little too complacent for me and the fact that he just sat around and waited and then got drunk anytime Kristine left him hanging was a little unbelievable. Logan was evil and fun to hate and the other characters were interesting although kind of flat. Some of the plot twists to connect everything together were a little silly - how small a world can this be for heaven's sake? But overall, not too bad.
Rating: Summary: Ridiculous! Review: This was one of the worst romance novels I've ever read. I expect to have to suspend my disbelief somewhat, but this book was ridiculous. The dialogue was beyond believeable, the situations were contrived, the characters were not appealing. The heroine was a total weak-spined wimp. I cannot believe there are so many people who enjoyed this book. Don't waste your money or your time. It does not get better as it goes on.
Rating: Summary: A long, but enjoyable read Review: I, too, found myself cheering for Kristine. Co-dependent relationships happen all the time and I'm glad the author addressed this issue. It was a great ending. I'm not sure she deserved Woody, but I'm glad they ended up together. Ms. Michaels referred to the tense relationship between parent and child at the beginning and then Kristine later refers to her parents as being, 'great' and 'there for her', etc. It was confusing, but maybe that mysterious money that popped up at the end changed her views on 'those rotten parents'....That along with that 'weird' slave trading story were misplaced in the story and I wanted it to end sooner, but I was glad to see that Kristine didn't cave in when Logan returned. Give it a chance.
Rating: Summary: Celebration Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was so glad to see that even though Logan was a West Point graduate, and thought he was so smart, he was not smart enough to outwit 3 women who had caring, thoughtful, friends who happened to be brilliant computer techies. Good for these guys. Good for Kristine's children who hung with her and could see right through their dad. Aaron deserves a medal, too. I'll read Fern Michaels again.
Rating: Summary: Great Disappointment!!! Review: This book reads as though it is a working draft not a finished novel. The author should treat her fans with more respect. The plot development is non existent and many of the events simply so far fetched to be totally without credibility. Don't waste your time or money with this one!
