Summary: Typical danielle steel story !!
Review: I am a regular DS reader and I have always appreciated her insight into human beings and their relationships. This book is no exception. Though highly improbable (but hey its a romance !)it does make a good read. But somehow i was disappointed with the hero who i felt did not realise the value of kate almost till the very end. Though i agree with her notion of letting go of something you love, it also goes without saying that love and marriage do change you in many radical ways, and for a marriage to work both must be willing to change, which does not seem to be the case here. And contrary to all beliefs, marriage does require time spent together. The heroine was a disappointment in the sense that she does not really know her own mind and ends up hurting Andy in the process. The story also reminded me of her earlier novel wings, but i liked wings a lot better.

Summary: Not a traditional love story
Review: I enjoyed this book, as I enjoy almost all of Steel's novels. What I liked about this book the most was that it was not predictable. It was more of a sad love story than one with a happy ending. And it's good to read those once in a while, probably more realistic.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great read for Steel fans
Review: I've read every book Danielle Steel's written and have only been dissapointed a time or two. Lone Eagle is one of my favorites. I read it during a difficult time in my marriage and it really helped me through. In typical Steel style, it is somewhat predictably romantic, but true fans won't be dissapointed.

Summary: it was ok
Review: I have been reading Danielle Steel's books for over 15 years now. Sometimes they do get a bit "all the same" with most of the characters being important, successful, beautiful people who live in "stately homes" and wear "important jewels and furs". Sometimes I think the characters are more about what they have then who they are. Despite this, I always enjoy her books - they are easy to read, romantic and make you forget about everyday life for a couple of hours while engrossed in the book. Personally I think her earlier books are more enjoyable and get more involved in the characters than some of the later books she has written.
The characters in this story annoyed me a bit - like get it together and decide if you want to be together. No one can be that indecisive about love - their "off and on and off and on" relationship annoyed me. An ok Danielle Steel but if I had a choice I'd choose another one like "Changes", "Thurston House" or "Mixed Blessings" which I enjoyed more than this one.

Summary: Poor writing - poor content
Review: Definitely agree with the reviews regarding the repetition (it drives me crazy!) and the sentences beginning with "but" or "and". I know it's not grammatically correct, but I have no problem with it once in a while. However, Danielle Steele writes this book as if she never went to school.
As for the characters - she writes everyone to extremes. Kate's mother's genuine concern for her daughter gets turned into interference even though she's done her best to let her daughter make her own decisions. Andy's love and concern for his wife gets turned into manipulation. Worst of all, Kate's love for Joe is described as obsession even though she gave him all the freedom he could possibly want. Unfortunately she had the "nerve" to be upset when he spent most of 6 months away from her. "Poor" Joe couldn't take her neediness! What a joke.
This is not a romance - a romance has to have somewhere in it two people who truly love each other. This is a story of a young girl who can't give up her first love and a man who manipulates her. There are no redeemable qualities about Joe.
I've read nearly all of Danielle Steele's books and I keep buying them even when the writing gets tiresome. I keep looking for another of her good books and eventually one does turn up. This is not one of them. I'll keep looking.

Summary: Give me the good old books!
Review: I agree with everyone who rated this three stars or lower. What has happened to this woman's writing abilities? She must be truly in it for the money. I was taught in English class that it was not a good thing to start a sentence with "and" or "but." She does it A LOT!! Also, as so many people say, she repeats and repeats! I, too, have read most of her novels but I'm not going to bother any more. After reading reviews on "The Kiss" and "Leap of Faith", I'm sure of it. It's really too bad because I loved the early ones like "Palomino" and "Daddy."

I hope Danielle reads all the reviews and takes heed!

Summary: An Amazing book
Review: Ever since i picked this great book and started reading it i couldn't put it down. If you look for a great romance book this is one for you. I seriously couldn't put the book down. I read it all in one day and enjoyed every moment of it. READ IT!

Summary: I liked it!!!
Review: I thought the novel was a great read. Once I got started I couldn't put it down. I really liked the characters of Joe and Kate. Sometimes we all do things when we are in love that most people looking in from the outside don't understand. In the end they found out what each other were really about.

Summary: This book was pretty good!
Review: I read Lone Eagle and I liked it a lot. It was kind of annoying because it seemed like Kate was always going back to Joe no matter what, and it seemed like there were so many issues that were always appearing. Over all, though, it was a really good book and it always kept my interest. I would give this book about a "B".

Summary: I, too, miss the old DS
Review: I have loved Steel's books for many years. Her stories and characters have always been very real and her descriptions of places were outstanding. Her last few books have been a disappointment, as the stories have become less and less interesting. I have always tried to ignore her annoying writing habits (And she did this. And they did that......). In this book the bad writing is just made worse by constant repetition. I thought if Kate ran her lovely long fingers through her dark shoulder length red hair one more time I would scream.
