Rating: Summary: Predictable and Stupid Review: This is a prime example of a bestselling author writing a novel because it can sell rather than actually caring about the story. Unfortunately, my brother gave me this book for Christmas (he knows that I like to read, but he doesn't understand that I have standards) -- and, like the dummy I am, I actually wasted time reading it. The storyline was unbelievably predictable, and the characters were one-dimensional and shallow. Not only that, but the author is either not very subtle or assumes that her readers are idiots. How many times must she refer to the twins switching places and loving each other to death in order for us to understand what makes them tick? Please, Danieele Steel, stay away from historical novels and PLEASE stay away from the subject of identical twins. Or else, write something that is interesting and original. And readers, if you want to read something that is romantic and historical as well as intelligent and interesting, go for Sir Walter Scott's "Ivanhoe" or, if your not into classics, at the very least, Johanna Lindsey. My overall message: don't insult your intelligence by reading "Mirror Image."
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I am an advid Danielle Steele reader and this is one that I have just finished reading. It was a great story and I couldn't put the book down until I was finished. I'll know within the first five minutes if its a good book because I completely tune everyone and everything out and fall into the story, this happened again in the book. Great job Danielle!
Rating: Summary: Great historical romance Review: While I enjoy reading all of Danielle Steel's books, I must say that any dealing with historical time periods grab and keep my attention better than others. I have heard many people say that all of Steel's books are too similar and that's why they don't read any of her books. To those people, I would like to say: Read Mirror Image and then tell me that it's like any of her other books. I think anyone would agree that it's a unique story that you haven't heard before.
Rating: Summary: Marvelous Review: I love this book. It was one Danielle Steel's best work. It was very intriguing from beginning to end. Kudos to you Ms. Steel
Rating: Summary: five,Five,FIve,FIVe,FIVE! Review: i had not read any of daneielle steel's novels before mirror image, and now i am a devoted fan. mrs. steel has a unique writing ability and terrific storylines to back that talent up. mirror image is now one of my favorite books because it is a beautifully written family saga set in the innocent times of our country. this story of the trials and tribulations between two beautiful, wealthy, and horribly sad identical twin sisters is so moving that i was in tears by the last chapter. it will move you. i simply refuse to give away the plot, but i must say that it is the most heartwrenching romantic tearjerker i've ever read.
Rating: Summary: This was another great book I read. Review: Danielle Steele has outdid herself with another great book. I enjoyed the family closeness of the characters in the book. The romance was great. I liked the bonding between the twin sisters.
Rating: Summary: A FANTASTIC BOOK Review: This was for sure one of Danielle Steele's best books in recent years . .I loved it. To be a twin and be in love with the wrong guy and in that way end up with him...It was so tricky and yet heart touching. Fantastic book.If you liked this book, or want to read one that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A Christmas gift to be cherished forever.
Rating: Summary: simplistic and lacking in depth Review: I am SO glad I didn't pay to read this book! I borrowed it expecting Steel's typical quick read of decent plot and little character. But this one exceeds her worst efforts. I can't believe that a father of twins can't tell them apart after 20 years! Especially since the housekeeper can! Steel spends countless lines explaining how alike the twins are, and yet how different. Sections of the book keep telling the reader which twin is which, as if we had no brain to figure it out. I kept thinking the plot would thicken, but I think even Steel got bored with this story. With less than 70 pages left, she tied up at least four plot lines with simple tactics. I won't pick up a Danielle Steel book again!
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable but a little slow Review: This was all in all a pretty good book. I didn't read it as fast as some of here other books, and at times it seemed to move slow. I did enjoy the story and it kept my interest.
Rating: Summary: Another page turner Review: D. Steele is an amazing author how she can produce so many beautiful stories that are almost believeable is amazing. I think this is the best one is a long time, I could not put this book down and I am not a reader so to say!
