Summary: Who Lives Like These People?
Review: I really did like Bittersweet which was a nice novel by one of my most favorite authors. I have read just about every one of her books and I must say I enjoyed most of them. However, there is something about her books that bothers me, is that everyone, even though they are on a middle income, can afford to eat at "21" in NYC or go to Trader Vics in CA. HELLO! If you want to have some well-to-do characters in there, fine. How about including someone in there that has children and their treat is going to MacDonalds on a Saturday. Unfortunately these days with the cost of living being the way it is is more realistic. Like this main character in the story, India>...... she had no money all these years her husband supported her because she was NOT ALLOWED to earn her own money.... How realistic is THAT? What did this husband earn so that they could afford to have the things that he did if his ideals and expectations were that unbending? I am sorry to burst peoples bubbles, this makes for a nice story and it is good to read how well to do people live their lives as a fantasy but this was very a unrealistic pill for me to swallow.

Summary: A HARD TO READ BOOK
Review: I have always love Daniel Steel's books and have read all of them as soon as they reach the stores, but this one is giving me a hard time. I just can't seem to get interested in the characters enough to care what happens to them. If you want to read another book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift!

Summary: Absolutely Excellent
Review: I loved this book from beginning to end. I have listened to my tape about 6 times so far, and I still haven't gotten bored. The reader does an excellent job with the different characters.Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!

Summary: I did not enjoy reading this book.
Review: The main character, India was a completely boring and uninteresting person. Her best friend, Gail, was much more colorful and I would rather have read more about her. This was a difficult and tedious story to read mainly because India deliberated over her situation for nearly 3/4 of the book. Why did this take so long to develop? If the story had moved along quickly and continued on once they did,I probably would have liked this book more. It ended too soon after she got her act together! I would really have enjoyed reading about her experiences while traveling on photographic assignments rather than her endless vacillating over her domestic crisis. I have read many novels by Ms. Steel, and I generally have enjoyed reading them. Unfortunately this was not one of them.

Summary: Danielle Steel is the best!
Review: I am an avid fan of Danielle Steel's books and each time I read a new one, I still do not know how she does it! I have never read a "bad" book of hers yet! For anyone who is going through a divorce, separation, bad marriage or feeling like she is being treated like a "maid" in her marriage, please read this book! Not only is it a beautiful story, but it also gives you the courage to do what India did in the book. She finally becomes strong and takes charge of her life. And Paul Ward, even though it took him a while to get over his deceased wife, he does realize how much India means to him. I adored his personality and wouldn't mind meeting him myself! As I said before, I enjoyed all her books and you certainly will too! Sit back, prop your feet up and read a book from my very favorite author who will certainly become yours!

Summary: Another great book by Daniel Steele, it ended to soon.
Review: I would love to have a Bittersweet Part II. Interest reading, good perspective for someone in the midst of a divorce - you can live through it and be better off in the end.

Summary: Wimpy main character was irritating...
Review: India, the main character, has been a homemaker for 17 years. Now she wants more, a chance to have a career and a family too. Unfortunately it takes 3/4 of the book to get to the point where the character decides she has the right to make a decision for her own happiness. The realization that she could choose herself first, was painfully slow. The new man in her life was also less than enthralling. Older, reeling from his recent loss, he mistakenly pushes her away. By the time they come together again, who cares?

Summary: LOVED IT!
Review: I'm not an avid fan of Danielle Steele. I've read quite a few of her books but not every single one. This one I absolutely couldn't put down! I read it in one nite!
