Summary: Such Fun to Read
Review: I read this in the car on a long road trip. I could not stop reading it! I never laughed out loud so much while reading a book. The characters in the book are so realistic. The neighbor woman was such a complimentary character to Mary Bliss. I will have to get more of the author's books. I am hoping to find her other books just as entertaining.

Summary: I have to disagree with the other reviewers...
Review: I really liked the Callahan Garrity series, and I LOVED "Savannah Blues," so I was excited to get my hands on "Little Bitty Lies," but it was a huge disappointment. The writing is stilted, and the third-person point of view doesn't do justice to Andrew's talent or sense of humor. I hated the ridiculous plot, and halfway through the book, I started skimming, just so I'd know how it ended. I'm hoping that "Hissy Fit" is better, since that's the only one of hers I haven't read yet.

Summary: Predictable but fun
Review: I was surprised to see the other review, because I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters, and although the story was pretty predictable, I laughed and found myself curious how it would all come to that predictable end. It's not the greatest mystery story, but if you are looking for a book that is light, easy reading and fun characters, this one is for you.

Summary: Hilarious and wonderful
Review: It's amazing how many reviews of books by author Mary Kay Andrews begin with "I loved this book." At the risk of being far from original, but completely sincere: I loved this book! And I seem to say this same thing every single time I read a book by this author.

LITTLE BITTY LIES is funny, it's clever, it's unexpected and, ultimately, it even is plausible.

Ms. Andrews hooks her readers right from the get-go, and takes them along for a romp that includes a rotten husband who abandons his family...the possible death of that same husband...affairs, adultery, divorces, senility and oh, yes, eyebrow waxing.

She sustains this pace, keeping the fun level up, while actually painting a very black and diabolical picture.

And everything in the plot works out for the best, including a recipe for a fabulous chicken salad that is sure to become a standard at my house.

Summary: A Real Southern Charmer
Review: Just great reading. One of the most delightful books I've read this year. Full of southern charm and a cast of characters you want to meet. Mary Bliss and Katharine will have you laughing out loud. Their solution to Mary Bliss's problems will remind you of Lucy & Ethel...but with a southern twist. Loved Savannah Blues too. Can't wait for the next one!!

Summary: A lot of fun
Review: Mary Bliss is concerned about all of the divorces in her neighborhood, especially that of her best friends Katherine and Charlie. She is completely surprised when her husband Parker takes off will all of their assets, leaving her under a pile of bills in an about to be foreclosed on home. Her daughter is either distant or angry and she is responsible for her semisenile cantankerous mother in law. The obvious solution (to her), is to have Parker declared dead and use his insurance money to keep their heads above water. Unfortunately, a former cop and supposed tennis partner of Parker's is taking a very close interest in Mary Bliss, both personally and professionally.

I really enjoyed this author's first book and was happy to find a second. Her characters find their way out of difficult situations in very unusual and amusing ways. I hope she publishes another one soon.

Summary: Engaging characters, fun plot
Review: Mary Bliss is shocked when her life as a good southern wife falls apart when her husband disappears (with all their money). She starts with the small lies to cover this disgrace from her teenage daughter and the neighbors. From there, she gets mired deeper and deeper in more lies and finally a convoluted cover up for faking his death.
It has some funny moments, though not in the same way as Becky Bloomwood is funny. I miss the first-person stream-of-consciousness style of the Shopaholic books.
Still this keeps your attention as a mystery, as a snapshot of southern life and as a story of relationships (mother/daughter, women friends, wife/husband, wife/mother-in-law, new boyfriend). Enjoyable reading.

Summary: A Delightful and fun read
Review: Mary Bliss McGowan is a character you quickly come to love. With a wacky best friend and a hormone crazy daughter, her life is far from being dull. Some scenes will have you laughing and saying to yourself, "I can't believe she did that!"

This was a great light read. I was able to finish the book within two days.

Summary: Absolutly Hilarious
Review: This book has to be one of the most interesting and entertaining things I have read all summer!!!! I am so glad I read it!!! I highly suggest this book to everyone...it is just too funny!!

Summary: Great Follow-up
Review: This book is NOT like Savannah Blues. When I began it, I thought it was a bit far-fetched, but then I realized that there is an element of fairy tale in such plots and you have to understand that while a bit of realism is absent, a lot of truth is slyly and humorously revealed. I didn't want to be Mary Bliss tho'(as a reviwer on the book jacket says all women will want to be); I want to be Katharine. Look forward to her next book.
