Summary: Jerry Springer Goes to Church
Review: I read this book because I am in a book club that read it. If I did not have to discuss it, I would not have finished it. The story was absolutely absurd! The molestation, incest, stealing are all too much for one book! The author would have done better with one or two tragedies, not one per chapter. I felt as if I were reading a cheap romance novel written by an extremely intelligent person.

Summary: A true page turner!
Review: I was introduced to J.California Cooper's work, several months ago, form a coworker. She guaranteed me that I would really enjoy her books. I have read three of her books so far and In Search of Satisfaction is my favorite. The first few lines of the novel states that we are all in search of satisfaction and I must agree. Even though we all may be in search of different things to satisfy us, the fact remains that we want to be satisfied. This novel deals with different characters on their road of searching. Some will find it sooner than others while some settle for what they think should be satisfaction. It's a wonderful piece of work and I definitely recommend it!

Summary: One of my Favorites in my personal Library!
Review: I was so impressed by the author J. California Cooper. My sister turned me on to this literary wonder. I have read all of her books because I can't get enough of her writing, I suggest them all, even the short stories as must-reads. I was so moved and yet surprised that she's not one of our more popular writers. I have a good feeling about her. I want to give this book 6 stars, it's worth it. Happy Reading!

Summary: IN SEARCH OF SATISFACTION
Review: IN SEARCH OF SATISFACTION is an excellent book, covering a wide range of what makes people "satisfed." It's the story of two Southern families, one Black and one White, and how they progressed in the decades after the Emancipation Proclamation. This book shows the tremendous differences in the assets and the attitudes of former slaves and former slave owners.

It's extremely well-written. The reader feels the emotions of the players, laughs with them and cries for them. Ms. Cooper is a name that I will look for in the future.

I don't fully understand the part the spider played, but she kept me guessing.

Summary: A totally satisfied reader
Review: In Search of Satisfaction is an excellent book. The author very quickly captures the readers interest and keeps it. I like the wisdom and the lifes lessons that JCC incorporates into her writing. The characters were very realistic and reflected different desires that people have in search of our own satisfaction. Some chose to use and abuse anybody to obtain money and power while others just wanted to be loved and live right, like Hosanna, who in my opinion was the hero of the story. This story is definately worth reading. I love JCC's writing style because it sounds like she is just talking to a friend.

Summary: Outstanding--A Remarkable Work
Review: J. California Cooper is a prolific author. I am an avid reader, and I've read all of Ms Cooper's works and this one is the best books I've ever read. She has a gift and uses it well. It is extremely well written and the message has universal appeal that is timeless regardless of the reader's gender, sex, or age. It is a phenomenal work! I recommend it to everyone.

Summary: MUST READ!
Review: J. California Cooper is a true talent. I was intrigued and entralled with the way she wove this tale, and how she was able to create characters who seemed so real I wouldn't have been surprised to see them step out of the pages! The struggles with good and evil that these characters face gave the story an added depth that I feel is missing in much of the books I read. This is the first time I've read any of this author's writings, and now, I am looking forward with anticipation to her future works.
