Summary: A "Must Read".
Review: "In Search of Satisfaction" is one of the best books I've ever read. I am now reading "The Wake of the Wind" and it's great as well. If I had a reading group Ms. Cooper would be at the top of the list. I plan to purchase and read the rest of her books as well

Review: Although I enjoyed this novel, I thought it was overly simplistic and lacked character development in some areas. It was interesting to see the interplay between good and evil, God and Satan and I think this technique added a certain uniqueness to the novel and the authors writing style. There were some very valuable lessons contained in this novel and for that reason, it is worth reading.

Summary: A definite page-turner!
Review: By far, this is one of the best books written. J. California Cooper has captured every possible emotion that one can feel, from hate to love to everything in between facing famlies, and individuals. A novel filled with an abundance of spiritual undertones, "In Search of Satisfaction", offers a look at how we put too much faith in money, objects and others trying to find the ever present self satisfaction. Guiding you through through the lives and thoughts of the characters you'll be craving for more and more. I hated when it ended.

Review: How does she do it! Cooper drops another fabulous novel with In Search of Satisfaction. I love the contrast of characters and the wickedness of the ties they have to one another. From the beginning sentance the the last you'll be caught in the whirlwind of spinning human life at its best. Anyone who enjoys a good book should pick this title up, you won't regret it. Anything by Cooper is amazing, but this is my personal favorite.

Summary: LIFE CHANGING READING! Where is Oprah when you need her?
Review: I am in my mid twenties, a voracious reader, a writer of fiction, and a poet. I'm a television reporter by profession. For the last fourteen years, my favorite book has been Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye", but now that's number two behind "In Search of Satisfaction". While I did find the "Satan" references preachy, I also found them necessary to the fabric of the story. This masterpiece was woven intricately. Did anyone notice character names: "Mr. Creed", for example. It was all wonderful. Of course the moral was slapped in our faces. It was supposed to be. I see Yinyang in me, I see Hosanna in me. I see struggle and pride...I have given a copy of this book to all my friends, male and female...after they read it, we talk in amazement.

Summary: I read this book twice
Review: I can't belive I never wrote a review for this book. Yes, I read it twice, and it was like watching a movie over and over again, a movie that you buy and can stand to watch over and over. I love JC. I really think that she is the writer that I aspire to become. I have read all her novels and short stories. she has not let me down. Thank you JC for your insightfulness and for listening to the voices of your characters

Summary: A Timeless Story
Review: I could not put this book down! Ms. Cooper weaves a timeless story. I turned each page with the anticipation of finding out what was going to happen to each of the characters.
I have read ALL of the author's books and this is my favorite! If Ms. Cooper is scheduled to appear at a reading near you, RUN DO NOT WALK. Her reading only enhances the lyrical flavor of her text

Summary: An outstanding piece of literature-spiritually uplifting
Review: I read "In Search of Satifaction" is a truly uplifting book. I first read this book about 2 years ago - my younger sister (14 years younger - then a high schooler) recommended it. To this day, I believe it is the best book I have ever read. this is a tall order to fill because I am an avid reader. My first reaction was to read this book, every three months, just to keep my spirits uplifted. Now, I try to read this book at least twice a year. It helps me in realizing that everyone, which includes me, is in search of satisfaction and aids me in this search. I have recommended this book to everyone I know. As a matter of fact,because of this book, whenever I am in search of satisfying my reading apetite - I purchase a book by J. California Cooper. Excellent piece of reading material.
