Rating: Summary: Who needs love and happiness? Review: Once again, Brenda Jackson does a good job of bringing real life situations to the forefront. With a delicate balance of friendship, love, misinterpretation, lies and lust, THE SAVVY SISTAHS is a must read. In addition to the excellent portrayal of characters, the underlying principles are the highlight of the book: When relying on faith and trust in God, dreams really do come true.Reviewed by Belinda of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers Complete review can be found on our website...
Rating: Summary: It was Ok Review: Savvy Sistahs is the Waiting to Exhale type book of the new millennium. It's about three intelligent business women who have formed a sisterhood because they have lots in common (they are business women who have all had past relationship problems). They get together often to talk about each other's problems. Although I normally like this type of book (successful black women who are there for each other), this book did not keep my attention. I found myself only reading it when I was bored and didn't have a lot to do. One of the problems with the book is when the author starts on a character or incident in the book, she spends too much time on that one subject. It took entirely too long to get to the end of an incident or subject. Also, the ending was a bit too perfect if you asked me. I think the ending should have been a bit more on the reality side. I won't spoil the ending by telling you how it ended, but if you read the book you'll see what I mean. Although I did not enjoy this book as much as I thought I would, I would still read other books by Brenda Jackson. On a scale of 1-5, I give Savvy Sistahs a 3. Rating: Summary: My Sisters¿ Keeper Review: Simply put The Savvy Sistahs by Brenda Jackson is a girlfriend-to-girlfriend novel with a twist. These girlfriends, Amber, Brandy and Carla, are not lifelong friends that met during childhood and remained friends, they met at a support group for business women in Orlando, Florida and from that forged their own triple bond of friendship. Each came into the group with their own set of baggage but one thing remains constant, they each have no time or patience for relationships with the opposite sex. Amber is a survivor of an abusive marriage and the owner of Amber's Books and Gifts. Through a divorce settlement, Brandy becomes the owner of the St. Laurent Hotel. Brandy was highlighted in Jackson's novel Family Reunion and someone is back stalking her with ties to that novel. Carla, a single mother, is named CEO of Osborne Computer Network after her father dies and finds her company the object of a hostile takeover. The men highlighted in this story are endearing as well and also carry some of the same baggage when it comes to relationships with the opposite sex. Cord Jeffries is an accountant and a very bitter man who must learn to let go of the past and judge people as individuals. Grey Masters is a private investigator and ex-FBI agent who has kept a haunting secret from his family about his failed marriage and Jesse Devereau is a west coast corporate raider with no shame to his manipulations and takeovers of successful companies. What role do these men play in the lives of the savvy sistahs? In true Brenda Jackson fashion, The Savvy Sistahs is a novel about family and the ties that bind, finding love in the most unexpected places and last but certainly not least, new friendships that span the test of time. Rating: Summary: Your run of the mill story Review: The book was ok. I don't think it realistic for all four women in the book to meet the men of the dreams within the same timeframe. I also think the title was a little misleading. These savvy sistahs are savvy in the sense of knowing whom to love. Granted it they have the rest of their lives in order. Still it would've been refreshing (and more realistic) to see someone do something with their lives that didn't center on a man. The reality is that more people (particularly black women) are single for life.
Rating: Summary: Brenda Jackson is the best!!!!!! Review: There is nothing that Brenda Jacksons writes that I don't love or extremely like. The Savvy Sistah's was another great book by my number 1 favorite author. Everything she rights is great to me. The ABC's let me into their lives and I was happy to be a part of it. She did well in weaving three stories into one big book. I felt like they all could have had their own individual book and it would have been just as good. The only problem I had with the book was that I wanted more story on Carla because I felt that her story just got tied up at the end and it could have been more and better.... But Brandy and Grey....EXCELLENT. It was a great story and the book will not leave you disappointed.

Rating: Summary: Crap Review: This book is crap. I thought I was going to read about three strong women who make it in the world. What I got instead was an unlikely fairytale. What a way to empower women! Leave them all at a table knocked up and drinking milk. The sex descriptions were even geared toward men. Ick.
Rating: Summary: A pretty good book Review: This book is the continuation of "A Family Reunion". This book is about three smart sisters(Brandy, Amber, Carla) that has made a success of their lives on the business side. The only thing missing is a man to share their success with. Through a series of incidents they all find men, but can they forget the hurt of the past and move on???
Rating: Summary: Not bad. Review: This was my first book by Ms Jackson. There were a couple of times that I felt that the women's lives could have been portrayed better while reading the book. However, once I thought about reality...the reality is that real life situations are not always pretty and can be downright eye opening. I identified with all ladies in one way or another. It is because I was able to see a part of me in each of these women that I enjoyed the book.
