Summary: Any bride can relate!
Review: Although, thankfully, I had a destination wedding, I was still able to relate to Amy's woes. All the changes, sacrifices and heartaches that a bride goes through in organizing a wedding are humorously chronicled in this easy to read diary. Must read this one before moving on to Diary of a Mad Mom-to-Be.

Summary: Great book!
Review: I thought Diary of a Mad Bride was a great book. It was a very quick read (1 day) and I laughed out loud many times. I'm currently reading the sequal "Diary of a Mad Mom to Be" and it is just as good.

Summary: I'm a little bored with the zany chick books
Review: Diary of a Mad Bride was fine for what it is: a fluffy read, not intended for the thinking woman who really wants to identify and delve into the topic of engagement (yikes) and marriage. I would recommend Otherwise Engaged for anyone who wants a book they can perhaps learn something from, and the laughs are more frequent and witty versus slapstick. Just my own opinion...

Summary: 20 year + bride
Review: I totally loved this book. Contrary to the previous reviewer, I thought it was right on the nose. It brought back all the horror, terror and tears of twenty years ago. Looking back on it, who ever came up with this ritual to celebrate the most important day of your life and turned it into such torture? I'm surprised my husband-to-be went through with it after living with me planning it--especially my dealing with Mom over her take on it vs. mine. I laughed till I cried--my kids wondered what I was reading that was so funny. I recommend this to any bride-to-be. I can't wait to give this book as a gift for those future brides. As a matter of fact, I think its better in retrospect for those of us who lived through that joyfull time (Ha,ha). Can't wait to read her Mom book.

Summary: It's an amusing take on wedding jitters
Review: Since I have been a bride once and since I enjoyed her second book, Diary of a Mad Mom-to-Be, I read this one as well. It's not as funny as her pregnancy book is ~~ but it's very humorous and cute. How well have I forgotten the nerve-wracking moments of trying to have the perfect wedding and within a budget! And Amy Thomas brings all those memories back with a hoot and a hollar!

Amy Thomas, a successful magazine editor, gets engaged to Stephen, a guy she's been dating for 11 months, in the line to a movie, no less. And with her best friend's encouragement, she buys this book on how to have the perfect wedding and that is when things started to snowball into mass hysterics.

It's cute and funny ~~ and a great read while soaking in a bath full of bubbles. It brought back lots of memories of my wedding and it was just a fun read!

Summary: If you need a good laugh (and you do)...
Review: I bought this book about a month before my wedding, not realizing how desperately I needed a good laugh. But, boy, this book didn't disappoint! I laughed so hard I cried & not just because some points do hit home; it was comforting to see that I hadn't totally lost my marbles. Despite how calm & collected you may be--and believe me, you always think you're doing better than you are--you still need this book. If for no other reason than to have a much-needed chuckle & prove to yourself that you aren't as hung up on Ginger Blossoms than some brides.

Summary: So funny
Review: I finished this book in 5 hours. It is so funny. I plan to marry next year and I am starting to get ready tomorrow.

Summary: Diary is a must read for anyone who likes to laugh!!!
Review: I first bought this book when I was planning my wedding as a sort of fun, stress free read and I couldn't put it down! I just loved it and found that most of the topics that the main character goes through I experienced myself. The book was very light and fun. I enjoyed this read so much that I looked for other books by Laura Wolf and found, Diary of a Mad Mom-To-Be, which was equally fun to read. I highly recommend reading both books and find myself awaiting her next piece of work!

Summary: Temporary insanity
Review: It is nice to read something with satire for a change. This book went very fast. Amy lives too fast a life of course, and then she had a wedding to plan and hardly any money for the extra expenses. We don't know if Gram is trying to sabotage the glorious ocassion or if she is just losing her health and mind. Mandy is going nuts with the dress business. Anita is against the concept of marraige period. Kate feels used and cheated. Misty is in love with Stephen's divorced father much to the resentment of Stephen's divorced mother and they are atill arguing about the divorce settlement.

Now, my fellow readers and my Christian brothers and sisters, will the big day come crashing down or will it be a big success? Read and find out.

Summary: Oh, so awful...
Review: First, let me begin by saying that I have never given a one-star rating to any book - ever; I am generally easy to please. However, this book is truly the most awful garbage I've ever read, deserving actually of a zero-star rating.

The story is unrealistic, unfunny and totally predictable, and the characters are unlikeable, to say the least. To top it off, the book is poorly written.

This should not even make your summer beach/pool booklist. Please, take my advice and skip this drivel.
