Summary: Laughed so hard my stomach hurt....=)
Review: I read this book on a whim after borrowing it from a friend. I didn't expect much b/c the diary format bothered me at first. But once I got into it, I was laughing out loud. Last night I finished it in one big chunk, and I kid you not...I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt and my eyes watered. This book is hilarious! My husband thought I was insane b/c I was laughing so hard, and I tried to read the funny parts out loud but couldn't even form the sentences without laughing.

No, this is not a great literary achievement. Its not the best book you'll ever read. But it might be the funniest, esp. if you've ever been a bride-to-be. I got married about 18 mos. ago, and though I never reached this level of madness or anywhere near it, I can understand or at least imagine how one might get there.

Read this book and enjoy it for what it is. A light, fast read that will keep you entertained. Also, it will make your own wedding madness (if applicable) seem tame and sane by comparison. I loved this book, and plan to purchase my own copy so I can reread the funny parts when I feel the whim. I also am going to recommend this book to all of my friends.

Loved it!

Summary: For anyone planning a wedding...
Review: I picked up this book because I am getting married in three short months. I delved right in and the pages flew by. I've never related so much to a fictional character!

This book, told in diary form, is about Amy Thomas, a 29-year-old woman who scorns marriage and brides. That is, until her boyfriend, Stephen Stewart, proposes to her in the candy line at a movie theatre. Now she's been sucked in to the excitement and stress of planning a wedding, hoping that she doesn't loose sight of what is really important.

This book made me laugh out loud at practically every turn of the page. It is a very witty read. Any bride-to-be would definitely enjoy this one!

Summary: Don't read it if you're planning a wedding.
Review: This book was okay--very Bridget Jones-ish, some truths (I'm planning my own wedding and I've been sleepless quite a bit), and lots of lazy writing. Count the number of times someone is "hip checked"--it seems to happen in every chapter. I don't believe the "I couldn't find a wedding dress" for a second; there are just too many of them out there. If you're at all nervous about planning your wedding, don't read it. The shrill tone and hysterics on every page will just needlessly raise your already heightened anxiety.

Summary: Bride-to-be disliked this book
Review: I bought this book about 5 months before my wedding this summer hoping for some humor to keep me going through the wedding planning process. Instead I got a book about a woman who keeps getting more and more ridiculous - to the point where I no longer felt sorry for her. While bridal insanity may happen to a lot of people (myself included), the author takes the story way too far over the top in an attempt to funny. Instead of reading the book and laughing at the characters (and thus myself), by the end I was sick of the main character and all of the book's contrived predicaments.

This was not a terrible book, and it was a very quick read. I just think it could have been much better. If you are curious I recommend checking it out from local library.

Summary: BORING!
Review: I absolutely love reading chick lit books. I read a lot of heavy stuff in school, so it's a nice escape. This book, however, was so incredibly boring that I didn't even want to finish. The main character was dull and the overall story, while a good idea, was not carried out very well. I didn't like the fiance, either. What a waste of a few hours.

Summary: 3 and 1/2 stars for Diary of a Made Bride
Review: If you are looking for a light, funny read, this is a book to read. The main character, Amy, is laugh-out-loud funny and definitely over the top. She is everything I do not want to be as a bride-to-be (sleep deprived, anxious, a little crazy) and that is what makes it funny to read (everything that could go wrong, does). Although the summary of the wedding was quicker than I hoped, I thought overall it was a cute book. Next I'll read Diary of a Mad Mom-to-be!

Summary: Enjoyable and quick read
Review: I enjoyed this book and read it in two days. It had a lot of funny parts to it and the journal entry format made it a fun read. The ending wasn't as great as I expected, it seemed the whole book built up to the big day and then it got rushed, but none the less it was still worth reading.

Summary: Quite a disappointment
Review: As if the author were rushing to finish the book so that it can be on the stand and make her some money. Book was ok in the first half, but weak at the end.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: This Book makes the perfect engagement gift
Review: Bits of truth, smaller grains of wisdom, and a lot of smart butt humor...who couldn't enjoy it? So, she takes it over the top and exaggerates just a tad-it's fiction! (Not to mention underneath all the exaggerations lies enough truth to make it believable).
I can't wait to get to the next installment-Mom to Be.
