Rating: Summary: Really a wonderful story with well developed characters. Review: I really enjoyed this novel -- the first Maeve Binchy book I've read, although I intend to seek out others now. The ending was a bit predictable, but I so thoroughly enjoyed the actual story and the characters that I didn't really mind. Wonderful plot development and attention to character details -- a real joy to read!
Rating: Summary: I've been a Binchy fan for years, this is the best yet! Review: Every book by Ms. Binchy reaches a new level of story telling and real life situations. I found "Tara Road" to be exceptionally satisfying in every way. The story line and the characters are woven in such a way that you are never left hanging or feeling lost. Ms. Binchy's characters are honest and very real, as are the life situations that they are portrayed in. You can easily picture "Tara Road" in your mind. I can hardly wait for the next novel by Ms. Binchy. She is definately a must read author!
Rating: Summary: I feel like I've met new friends. Review: Maeve Binchey has introduced me to friends again! I feel like I really know these people. So believable. Why did it have to end? Please Maeve, write a sequel and tell us more about Ria and family and friends. Loved it.
Rating: Summary: Binchy never disappoints! Review: I'm so glad to see Maeve's newest book climbing the charts. She's a truly gifted storyteller, in the truest sense of the word. She has an incredible ability to draw readers in from the first page, and this book is no exception. It's a wonderful read about ordinary people. That's what makes Binchy's books so great. The characters are so real. Her books are extremely accessible, in addition to being fine examples of lierature.
Rating: Summary: wonderful, stayed up all night to read it. Review: I expected it to be great, and I was not disapointed. Lots of emotions
Rating: Summary: A book to throw yourself into, and never want to leave. Review: Maeve Binchy is always good for writing a wonderful story. You will not want to put Tara Road down. There is never a boring page in this book. Maeve Binchy puts a lot of story into every sentence, and you really wish it would never end. The only way she could improve on this book is if she wrote an additional few hundred pages more to the stories. I as always look forward to her next book.
Rating: Summary: Another Winner!! Review: Once again,Ms. Binchy gives us the opportunity to loose ourselves in the lives of her characters. She gives such attention to the tiny details that give her books their charm. The U.S. connection was a different twist for her. As usual, I eagerly await her next book.
Rating: Summary: Phenomenal book! Review: Maeve Binchy has written another phenomenal book. Hard to put down and so enjoyable, the characters soon become friends. The story of Ria and Danny and Marilyn Vine is so interesting! I am always sad to finish one of her books because it means I have to wait for her next one to come out!
Rating: Summary: One Of Her Very Best!! An Ultimate Page Turner!! Review: Once again, Maeve Binchy let's us have with a story full of human interest, sorrow, sadness & delight!! Ria Lynch is a simple, honest and humble housewife. Her greatest joys are her children, her bustling kitchen, (through which visitors come from near and far) and most of all - her handsome husband, Danny. Ria's world is blown apart when she learns of Danny's ultimate betrayal and struggles to put the pieces of her life back together. She does this with the help of a chance American visitor to Ireland many years ago. Marilyn Vine remembered the charming Danny Lynch from her trip and calls to ask if he could arrange a house swap for the summer. Ria jumps at the chance to get away to America and relishes the opportunity to rethink her life, bond with her kids and heal. Marilyn Vine in turn, learns to laugh, love and let go in Ria's grand Victorian home in Ireland. She makes friends, discovers secrets and also learns to heal. Maeve Binchy has once again given us a treasure trove of personalities and situations to delight and amuse us. As always, her sense of timing and the pace of the novel is exceptional. I truly did not wan t it to end. I only wish that there were more of the novel, as I was left wondering the future of the lovely folks on Tara Road. Hopefully, she'll write a sequel - I can't wait!
Rating: Summary: A curl up on the couch and read book Review: I enjoyed Tara Road a lot...it was a good read and I had trouble putting it down! The cast of characters blended well and allowed me to figure out the "secrets" before the end of the book. At the end I was left wanting to know what happened next...the true mark of a good book.
