Rating: Summary: Being there while reading Review: I can not get away from reading this book. I am involved in the lives of the characters. She is marvellous in pointing out the weak part of each character. You are still thinking: what is going to happen on the next page! I love it!
Rating: Summary: Tara Road is in my heart and will be for a long time! Review: This was the first book I read by Maeve Binchey and what a treat it was. The characters were so clearly defined - I feel like I also traveled to both Tara Road, and Marilyn's home in Connecticut. I truly couldn't wait to see how things were going to turn out for all these characters I had come to know so well, but at the same time I was so sad to let them go. If you love books about people, as I do, you will love Tara Road!
Rating: Summary: My favorite Binchy!! Review: This is definitely Maeve Binchy's best novel yet. The interlocking stories keep the reader entertained and wondering what will happen next. I was sad to finish it.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Irish Tale Review: Maeve Binchy captured my mind and heart in her newest novel, TARA ROAD. My heart felt for her dynamic characters during the many challenges they encountered. It is a book that should be read and treasured in one's mind forever.
Rating: Summary: Another excellent book by Maeve Binchy. Review: With Binchy's books, I never want them to end and Tara Road was no exception. The characters are so well drawn that they are old friends by the time you are half way through the book. There was a lot of realism in this story and the relationships ring true. Ria was a great character and so was her daughter. You could see her daughter's growth throughout the book. I wish that there weren't so many years between Binchy's books. They are always a rare treat.
Rating: Summary: Excellent story, emotionally involving reader from page one. Review: I have read most of Maeve Binchy's glorius books and I was yet again touched by Tara Road. The characters became my friends and relatives as well as Ria's. I felt like I was apart of the book and its' story. The emotions experienced by the characters were real and so it was easy to relate to them. I must thank Mrs. Binchy for her wonderful talent and I will be anxiously awaiting the release of her next novel!
Rating: Summary: A book you won't let down until the last page is turned! Review: A story that is so easy going and predictable yet leaving you hanging for more. Just like a hot cocoa on a cold rainy day. You just can't have enough of it!
Rating: Summary: Tara Road is Binchy at her best. Review: From the moment one opens the front cover, Maeve Binchy pulls the reader into her world--and makes you feel just a little bit more Irish. The life of Ria Lynch and her friends absorbs you and takes you to Dublin to the quaintness of "Tara Road." As in Binchy's other work, reading "Tara Road" is like curling up in a big quilt in front of a crackling fire on a cold winter day. She tells a common story in a compelling and most uncommon way--with clarity, color and her own brand of Irish flavor. My only warning is DON'T READ THE COVER before you oopen the book. Why publishers feel the need to give away important plot ingredients on the book jacket is beyond me.
Rating: Summary: Shockingly bad. Review: Those of us who have come to expect total delight from a Maeve Binchy read are sorely disappointed with TARA, a pointless exercise that meanders this way, then that way, then jumps over here. Flat, unbelievable characters, pointless plot twists and a big build-up to nothing were the hallmarks, for me, of TARA ROAD.
Rating: Summary: This is the best book I have read in such a long time. Review: I felt sad when I finished reading the book. I had gotten so attached to each and every character I was sorry the book had to end. If Tara Road was my first experience with Ms. Binchy I can't wait to read the others!!! Thank you for a wonderful novel.
