The central characters are Annette, a woman who wears a size 24 and finds herself unattractive and her best friend, Rhoda, a woman who is perfect in terms of aestheic beauty but has a terrible temper. The sequel focuses on Annette's search for love and Rhoda's new life with a Jaimaiican husband. Throughout the novel, Annette sleeps with Pee Wee, while denying her love for him. Pee Wee sleeps with Annette while denying his love for her. Rhoda, who suffers two terrible illnesses and the loss of a loved one, feels she is being punished for some ungodly things she has done. The book is very good.
Rating: Summary: God Still Don't Like Ugly Review: This is the best sequel that I have ever read.If you like God Don't Like Ugly you will love this one. This book left me with great satisfaction it will leave you wanting to know more about Rhonda,Pee Wee,Scary Mary, Annette. Annetta also didn't let what happen to her when she was a child get in her way of being happy in the end. She used it to try to help another little girl. Trust me you will not be sorry.
Rating: Summary: Good Review: This was a good book - but there was nothing new introduced. While this was a good read - it incorporated too much of the first book, God Don't Like Ugly, and not enough new information. I did like how the author brought Annette and her biracial siblings together. It was also good to see her reunited with her father. The central theme was Forgiveness, and it was illustrated quite well.
Rating: Summary: God Still Dont like Ugly Review: This was one of the best books I have ever read. The first one was dynamic but htis sequel hit the nail on the head. Ms. Monroe made you feel as if you were in the book right tere living Annettes life with her. She still had her share of tragedies but she overcame them and finally found happiness in the end. I am so glad that she didi not marry cheapass Jerome. She and Peewee were meant fro each other. I can not sing the praises of this book enough. I hope there is a third one in the works!?
Rating: Summary: Excellent follow up Review: We meet up with Annette Good five years later. The sequel is about reunions, forgiveness and facing the past, and looking ahead to the future. Facing the past means having to own up to past transgressions and accepting responsibility for your actions. What I enjoyed about this book was if you did not read the first book, you were able to thoroughly enjoy this book because Monroe was really good about rehashing parts of "God Don't like Ugly".
