Rating: Summary: GOOD READ!!!! Review: I ENJOYED THIS SEQUEL, I ALSO LIKED THAT IT REFRESHED YOU ON WHAT HAD ALEADY TAKEN PLACE IN THE STORY. ANNETTE THOUGHT THAT THE THINGS SHE WAS DOING WAS TO HELP OTHERS BUT IN GOD'S EYES IT WAS WRONG. AND IT PROVED EVEN MORE HOW JUST GOD REALLY IS. I THINK THIS BOOK ALSO DID A GOOD JOB OF SHOWING HOW IN THE END TRUE LOVE CAN PREVAIL, FOR BOTH ANNETTE AND RHONDA. GOOD READ!!!
Rating: Summary: Very good! Review: I have read all of Mary Monroe's books & all of them have such intriguing characters..& they are all laugh out loud funny in their own way..But most of all I liked this book & all of her books because you can take something away from it..this book had morals to be learned..I learned that when it seems life is dealing you tough blows, if you have a good heart good will come to you in the end..& just the opposite if your heart is ugly
Rating: Summary: God Still Don't Like Ugly-Resolution for Annette Goode &Read Review: I must say that in my opinion, " God Still Don't Like Ugly" was excellent! It answered so many questions readers had after reading "God Don't Like Ugly" by Mary Monroe. This book had all of the elements of the first one: tragedy, triumph, and humor. The main character finally has resoulution to many of the problems that plagued her in the first book. This second book starts with Annette Goode, the main character. She is 35 at the beginning of the book and has finally had contact with the father who abandoned her and her mother 30+ years ago. She finally makes peace with him and her half brothers and sisters. She also finally makes amends with the infamous Rhoda, and readers find out more about her relationship with Pee-Wee. Many of the old characters, such as her mother, ma'dear, Scary Mary, etc. are there to lend support as always. The reader will get to laugh and cry with Annette about some of the new characters such as Jerome, Vinnie, and a little girl who bares a striking resemblence to Annette when she was a child. Annette is so dynamic in the way she takes all of her life experiences and makes the best out of the life that she has been given. And in the end, what's so important is that she still can love others. I guess I love this book, because it is real, and the main character is definitely no victim. She is a survivor. In "Good Sill Don't Like Ugly" Mary Monroe bridges the gap created in the minds of readers of "God Don't Like Ugly." The reader gets the opportunity to see how Annette has grown and how she deals with things as an adult. Considering her childhood experiences, Annette ends up becoming a mature and somewhat balanced and beautiful human being. I would recommend this book to everyone.

Rating: Summary: I STILL love Mary Monroe!! Review: I read God Don't like Ugly a while back, so I couldn't quite remember all of the details. Reading this sequel brought all of the old memories back to me. Annette Goode is an overweight adult who has a lot of emotional baggage leftover from a childhood that no one would ever dream of. For 10 years, she was molested by a pedophile in her own home and made to feel inferior to other people because of her looks and weight. She returned to her old home to resolve some of the things that she ran away form and mostly to confront Rhoda, her childhood friend that not only killed her molester Mr. BoatWright, but 4 others that she admitted to. Mary Monroe makes us fell all warm as she tells the Story of Annette Goode and shows us again that GOD STILL DON"T LIKE UGLY!! Please buy this book.
Rating: Summary: Bored Review: I was totally bored with this book until I got closer to the ending. I read "God Don't Like Ugly" and couldn't put it down, but the follow up was a disappointment.

Rating: Summary: Good Review: If God Don't Like Ugly left you with questions as to what happened to Annette and Rhoda, well read this one. In it, Annette comes back home and finally face her past. She ends up getting engaged, not once, but twice and finding love from a very unlikely source. Rhoda comes back into the picture and Annette wonders what to do with the friendship(or alienation)between them, all the answers and more become answered in this book. Also, you get to meet Annette's father, half sister and other siblings as well(who are half white) here as well. Enjoy
Rating: Summary: She just don't stop Review: Mary Monroe again has given us another smashing hit. If you haven't read one of her books, I suggest that you start. She brings her characters alive and they keep you wanting more. From Gussie Mae to Pee Wee they all bring out a laughter, a tear and a smile. God Still Don't Like Ugly is a part two of God Don't Like Ugly so please please read that first. If by chance you don't, read God Don't Like Ugly first don't worry Ms. Monroe does a wonderful job of catching you up on previous events. We all that Annette Goode, had finally gotten on the good foot after her life of misfortunes. She was an overweight girl who lacked confidence that found friendship in a beautiful girl who lived across the streets. Rhoda, Annette's only friend would go to any length to protect or put forth revenge to anyone who had caused her love ones harm. When she confessed to Annette of her murderous events Annette was scared beyond belief. Yet she knew her friendship with Rhoda would have to end. Never did she think in her wildest dreams that the death of a 6-year-old Italian girl would bring back the friendship she had with Annette. Never did she think that she would pay for the crimes she committed, but Ms. Monroe did a fine job of showing us that God Don't Like Ugly and you reap what you sow. Pee Wee was another childhood friend of Annette's she shared just about everything with ole Pee Wee. And why not she thought he was homosexual he was no different that Rhoda other than the fact that he liked to gossip with everyone even ole Scary Marry and her girls all the way to Annette's momma Gussie Mae. Pee Wee was the boy next door that eased all Annette's troubles never did she imagine the joy he would bring to her life. I can go on and on about Mary Monroe writing. I am a big fan of hers and I am sure if you pick up one of her books you will be just as hooked as I am and read all of them and still be waiting on the next. When Ms. Monroe puts something out there whatever I am reading gets tossed to the side because I know she will be having me sobbing and laughing uncontrollable and I am sure you will feel the same.
