Summary: Reading Again!!
Review: Being a non-reader I was excited to find a book that would hold my interest. The Quilter's Apprentice did just that. Yes, it is a quick read, and just begins to discuss the characters. Sarah and Sylvia have an interesting time getting to know each other. I would love to attend a quilt retreat at Elm Creek. I look forward to reading Round Robbin.

Summary: Reminded me of the Mitford Series
Review: It is so refreshing to read a book that has no violence, and no profanity. It can be done, and this book is a pleasant read. It won't be a classic, and I probably wouldn't read it again, but it was a pleasant few hours. If you like this you should look for Sandra Dallas' books. It also reminded me of Jan Karon's Mitford series.

Summary: The Quilter's Apprentice
Review: The Quilter's Apprentice was one of the best books I've had the pleasure to sit back and read in ages! My mother also read it and has written down the names of all the quilts mentioned in the book, checking to be sure that she has the pattern for each block! The way that Ms. Chiaverini pulls the past into the present is so interesting. She compels the reader to want to read and learn more about every character in the book. My Mom and I can't wait to read the sequel, Round Robin!

Summary: A great escape
Review: An enjoyable book - it was an easy read with a delightful story and reminded me of the Mitford series. The characters were interesting (but not too complex) and you were able to relate to their lives. The whole background of quilting was a wonderful touch! A delightful and enjoyable read!

Summary: The Quilter's Apprentice
Review: The book was well written, though did seem to be aimed at a young reading audience. I would have found it helpful if the blocks mentioned in the book had pictures of what the block looked like. That way I wouldn't have to run for my referance books, and then wonder which of those with that name were being referred to in the book.

Summary: It could have been better...
Review: As a person who someday would like to learn how to quilt, I enjoyed the scenes in which Sarah was being taught. The flashback scenes were also poignant. But, this book truly suffered from a lack of depth. The characters were not well developed enough, and though you desired to know more about them, by the end of the book, you were still left wondering. The ending wrapped up in a neat, yet predicatable package.

Summary: The Quilter's Apprentice
Review: I quilt. I own a quilt shop. I also teach high school English. So my standards for what makes a good read are pretty high. Just because it's about quilting doesn't make it good. This story is really good. The characters are real, I have them as quilting friends, and as customers. I couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end. A good plot with nicely written flashbacks. Written by someone who really know quilting, women and friendships.

Summary: A lesson on life is in there.......
Review: As stated before a slow start with this book but it gets good if you stick with it. A nice warm story that teaches us a life lesson in regards to holding a grudge. Predictable direction for the story? Sometimes, but so what it was a good read. I did not want to put it down! This book made me smile.

Summary: A good escape
Review: This book caught my attention with its cover jumping out at me. I have always wanted to find the time to quilt and I thought this book would be just the thing to jump start me. Although it is very intesting and informative in regards to quilting, I was not impressed with the main character who when the reader is first introduced to her she is quite a complainer. As soon as she meets the old woman who is to be her quilting teacher it is obvious that a friendship will begin. I found a lot of the book too predictable and as some reviewers have already stated, I kept hoping that I would be able to get deeper into the character's skins and know them at a much deeper level. A quick read that has continued me to be inspired to quilt, but not a story that entranced me.
