Rating: Summary: Full of Wonderful History and Spiritiual Experiances! Review: I have just recently finished reading "The Work and the Glory" series and loved it! But like many people, I think of LDS church history as in the days of Joseph Smith, but this book has really opened up my eyes to how it really was for the church during WWII. I am 14, and I really don't know a lot of thing's, but this book has helped me know a little better how to pick a right mate and how to live by the spirit. I love the history in this book! Five thumbs up!!
Rating: Summary: Children of the Promise, Rumors of war Review: I just finished the first book Rumors of war and I loved it It was one of those that you just can't put down. WW2 was an exciteing period of time that you don't find many LDS books in. It was a great book with many ranges of emotions and it takes you with each of them. You can really feel each character's emotion and point of veiw. I loved it so if your looking for a great series to read stop looking you've found it!
Rating: Summary: It's educational & exiting! I can't wait to read vol. 2 Review: I like this book because it shows me that my family is not the only mormon family with problems like that. I wish that I could convince my 11 year old brother to read it, but he does not like to read like me and my parents. I wihs every parent would read this book or they are being out read by a 12 year old.It is an awesome book!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: A very good book that you all have to read. Review: I liked this book. It was very cool. It gets a little scary , a little sad, and has lots of history too. My mother loves the book. I'm a teenager who doesn't really like history or reading, but I've already read the first two volumes of this series and found them to be really interesting. You will like this book.
Rating: Summary: Gripping, a page turner! Review: I read this book in a week and the second volume in one day! This series really brought home to me what war means and how people react to it. If you didn't live through this time, you can get an idea of what people were thinking. It was hard for me to understand that people had such closed minds, but by reading this book it made me realize how far we have come. I love this series and can hardly wait for numbers 4 and 5!
Rating: Summary: Very Informative and a fun read, too. Review: I thouroughly enjoyed reading the book. The more I read, the more I enjoyed reading. The characters are mostly believable and the storyline is engaging. On top of that, the book was informative on the history of the church during WWII and in Germany. A great read!

Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: In the past four years since I finished high school, I have only read one book voluntarily, it's hard to read a book you don't have to read unless it's really interesting...my mom was reading some series of books called 'the children of the promise' and kept telling me to start book one. I kept putting it off because who does what their mom says? Well in the process of putting it off, two of my sister's started the series, so I thought fine, I'll crack the first book open. Oh my gosh, could there be a better book? I read book one in three weeks(I'm not a fast reader so thats really good for me) and I've started book two. I love all of the characters, if alex were real, I'd would be totally in love with him, and bobbi would be my best friend, and if you're mormon, there are so many things that others would bypass, but are so familiar to you, it's almost funny. My grandpa was in the navy in the 20's and 30's and my grandad was an army doctor during WWII, so it makes it seem even more real. I just love history so much, I'll be so bummed when I finish this series.
