Summary: GOOD STORY BUT WRITING WORRIED ME AT TIMES
Review: I loved the story but at times I found the writing a little 'simple'. Having just read 'Le Testament Francais' (in English) and even the translation was beautifully poetic, I found Allende lacking in writing style. Often the writing didn't seem to flow.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Exquisitely written.
Review: Superbly written, (spanish) the novel transported me to Valparaiso and California. Ms Allende has once again proven to be a noteworthy novelist. Do I smell sequel?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: between excellent and outstanding
Review: If you are a fan of Isabel Allende this is a must read. On the other hand if you hold her in disfavor, for some reason, stay well away. This is Allende at her best. If you have never read any of her work this is a fine place to start. It isn't quite up to The Infinity Play, but a cut above some of her other work

Let's just hope they don't try to make a movie of it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Buen libro, buen relato, entretenido.
Cinco estrellas.

Summary: Trama interesantisima

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: magical, erotic, sensational
Review: I love the character of Eliza Sommers, is as usual as strong as the other protagonist of her stories, just as I imagine the author. and I really think that Allende has an extraordinary imagination, and her magic is phenomenal.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Her best since House of the Spirits, however...
Review: What happened to the ending? Was the author struck by lightening before she could finish?

A wonderful story, beautifully written with a marvelous evocation of San Francisco during the gold rush era. A strong, fascinating central character, but does she reunite with her family at the end? The abruptness of the ending made me howl with frustration.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: la novela me decepcionó.
Me decepcionó.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wondeful. Allende gets better and better with each new book
Review: Once again Allende delivers her finest work. I enjoyed every word of it, except for the end, this novel will remain as one of Allende's most daring projects. I did feel, however, that the novel ended too sudden. It seems that Allende got tired of it in the last three pages. She was fed up with it and decided to end it. Can't wait for her to win the nobel price.
