Summary: Absolutly fabulous!
Review: I have never been able to laugh out loud from reading a book until I read "Watermelon." It became my favorite book almost 4 years ago and I still love it today. Claire's experience in this book is absolutly mind-blowing. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a genuinly heart-touching, and hilarious book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: what a funny book!
Review: I really enjoyed this book! After trying to get through several books that were just kinda boring and tedious to read, I decided to finally give a Marian Keyes book a try. I'm glad I did. It was so fun to read! I can't wait to read another of her books...I'm going to try to read them all now!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Funny, funny, funny!
Review: This is the first book I've read by Marian Keyes but it certainly won't be the last! It was thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. The story is told from the point of view of Claire, a woman dealing with the birth of her first child as well as her husband leaving her. It doesn't sound like suject matter for a hilarious novel - but Marian Keyes manages to keep readers in stiches with Claire's witty commentary on the events going on in her life. I highly recommend Watermelon.

Summary: Another classic from Keyes!!
Review: If you ask me, this woman is a genius. I love her work. Sure, they are easy to read, but there is always a serious plot and I think Keyes (Irish, not British)handles them superbly. By far my favorite author!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: last chance saloon was a better read
Review: This book was entertaining...I enjoyed Last Chance Saloon much better!
Watermelon was a little disappointing after reading last chance saloon

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wonderful, quirky, British-page turner
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this novel set in the British Isles. As the primary character, Claire had me rooting for her successes and constantly laughing out loud at her antics. Each time she turns her emotions into characters who are out to confuse and annoy her, I couldn't wait to turn the page and meet more. Her story was believable and filled with modern examples of being a wife and becoming a mother in this hectic world. Claire's family is a delight and I am glad that we can meet them again in Marian Keyes' subsequent novels, Rachel's Holiday and Angels.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Charming, and Entertaining
Review: This book was great! Marian Keyes has a awesome way with characters. I couldn't put it down. The walsh family is a classic. I'm waiting for the book about Helen. I have read all the others.

Summary: Disappointing...
Review: This is the third Keyes book I have read. Perhaps if I read this one first, I would have given it 4 stars. However, Rachelle's Holiday and Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married are both better books.

The main reason I didn't care for this book all that much is because I found Claire (the Watermelon) to be annoying. She bitched too much, was too insecure, and was overly neurotic. Every time the book would get to a place where you wanted to know what would happen next, Claire would start rambling about something stupid that she had issues with, and then would go, 'oh but anyway, this is what he said..'. I actually skipped paragraphs because there was A LOT of this type of filler.

This book didn't keep me turning the pages. It took me 3 weeks to read (rare for me). I didn't really care what happened either. However, it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't finish it. It was kind of like watching a program that you don't care for one way or another but it is the only thing on TV.

If you have yet to read any books by this author, I would recommend skipping this book and reading Rachelle's Holiday. It is by far the best and funniest (in spite of its serious topic) by Keyes of the 3 I have read.
