Rating: Summary: "Absolutely Wonderful!" Review: I read Marion Keyes's "Lucy Sullivan is getting married" first. It was wonderful, so I couldn't wait to read "Watermelon" which is actually her first novel. I "Loved It!!" Keyes's main characters are hysterical! They think and sometimes say what we'd love to at times. You will really enjoy this book. The main character Claire, really find her strengths in this story. At the end you almost feel like applauding her! ....A "Must Read!" You'll love it....

Rating: Summary: A Very Enjoyable Read Review: When Claire's husband announces that he is leaving her for another woman on the very day that she gives birth to their first child, she handles the situation much better than most women would do in real life. However, she does have her ups and downs over the next few months as she seeks refuge in the home of her parents and younger sisters back in Dublin. Obviously Claire has enough on her plate to contend with, but her incredibly selfish and incompatable family would be enough to send most people over the rails anyway, regardless of whatever problems they were already dealing with. Then just as she seems to be doing quite well, her husband turns up in Ireland and starts throwing more spanners into the works. This is quite a journey for a 29 year old woman with a brand new baby and is one well worth reading. It is very funny but also very touching and was a real page turner for me. This is my first Marian Keyes novel but I have already ordered her other books and look forward to getting stuck into them too.
Rating: Summary: A laugh out loud read Review: I loved this story and so did everyone who I have loaned it to. I laughed through the whole book. The heroine and her family are all totally lovable characters, and even though she finds herself in an awful situation, she can still laugh and make fun of herself. A must read....
Rating: Summary: you might NEED this book Review: If you are suffering a mental breakdown, you need this book! Especially if the breakdown can be directly related to a boyfriend or husband, or lack there of. I have bought this book multiple times for heartbroken girlfriends, I gave my copy away, and, unfortunately, its time to buy another copy for myself. You will relate to the need to neglect yourself by spoiling yourself with alcohol and occasionally throwing the Vodka bottle at the wall. You can live in this book. You will try to slow down your reading so that it will last just a little longer, and most likely read it again.
Rating: Summary: GO CLAIRE!!!! Review: Keyes is awesome. I am in love with her books. I can't say that I liked this one better than Lucy, probably the same. Again the first person captures you and makes you feel like you are there in the story. I was emotionally involved in this book. I hated James and then I hated Claire and then I liked her again. I would say that this books rules and is very fun to read!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Five stars if you're looking for a fun summertime read Review: This book was fun. The first person voice irritated me at first but I got used to it and really started liking the main character. I felt like I was right there in Ireland and enjoyed the wacky family stuff. I read it in the winter and wish I would have waited to read it byt the pool. It really "takes you away."
Rating: Summary: Good until the end Review: This book was a quick, fun, easy read... absolutely hillarious! It earned five stars up until Claire looses her guts and turns into a doormat. Then luckily she gets some sense talked into her and turns back into her normal assertive self (thank God, or it would've gotten fewer stars) It wasn't as "Bridget Jones"ish as i thought it would be but it still lived up to it's feminist Brit Lit hype! I would suggest this to someone who just wants to have a good time.
