Review: This book was great even though at points in the book it seemed confusing.I think if amy tan wrote the Daughters and mothers stories back to back it wouldn't be as confusing. she could of wrote one family at a time but i guess she might have had a reason for writing it that way. The book was very descriptive and sympathetic. at the beginning junes mother had to give up her too babies so she would not die next to them, because who would pick up two babies knowing that a ghost mother will follow them around.that was the best thing she could do because she did not think she could make it. The beginning just showed how much junes mother had to give up in china for a better life.All of the mothers gave up some part of their lives to better their childrens and families lives. So it was a very great book and the movie just kind of cut out some great parts of the book that they should of used to make the movie better.

Review: I thought this book was very well written. It was slightly hard to follow in some situations, because it jumps around a lot, but it's worth trying out. I'd advise it to anyone interested in cultures and historical views.

Review: In this novel many themes are explored and many problems are examined. Amy Tan does an amazing job of giving the reader insight into the complicated world of mothers and daughters, especially since the mothers and daughters are from two dofferent cultures. The characters in this novel are all dynamic and grow as we watch them deal with their past, present, and future. Anyone could appreciate this novel and its message. I know I thoroughly enjoyed reading it myself.

Review: I GIVE THE JOY LUCK CLUB FOUR STARS. IT WAS INTERESTING AND RELATABLE. I HAD TO READ IT IN THE TENTH GRADE AND IT WAS JUST AS ENJOYABLE THE SECOND TIME I READ IT. THERE WERE PARTS THAT I MISSED FROM THE FIRST TIME. THE STORIES DO GET CONFUSING THOUGH, SOMETIMES IT IS HARD TO PUT THE MOTHERS WITH THE DAUGHTERS, BUT OVERALL THE JOY LUCK CLUB IS A GOOD BOOK.

Review: The Joy Luck Club was an inspirational book. It allowed me to deal with my own family issues. The relationship between the mtohers and daughters was so heart warming in the end of the novel. Amy Tan did a wonderful job in portraying the family values and ties between the two generations. I thouroughly enjoyed the storyline especially becase the structure in which it was writen was very organized. I gave it 4 1/2 stars.

Review: I think that this book was wonderful. It gave me an idea of the different lifestyles that are lived and the things that every ethnic race has to endure. I believe that every student should be given the opportunity to broaden their horizons by learning about other cultures. I also believe that Amy Tan did a wonderful job portraying the lives of women and their children. Only because it gave a description of four different lives and their problems and solutions to the world around them.

Review: Even though i enjoyed reading the novel somewhat, I gave Joy Luck Club 3 stars because in the beginning of the book, it was very difficult to understand what was going on. It was also difficult to differentiate between who was who's mother/daughter. Also, at times, the story just seemed to drag. However, there were other parts in the novel that were very interesting. I would have liked it better all together if it would have put it together like the movie in the sense that the daughters' and mothers' stories were "back-to-back". This way, it was much easier to understand who is related to who and keeping the stories tied in together.

Review: This book is a good one. It not only immerses you in Chinease culture, but it makes you ponder questions about family. Tan does a great job going into great detail about the relationships between the mothers and daughters. At first I thought I would hate this book, but the engrossing stories and the sentimentallity and love between the characters of this book made it an enjoyable reading experience. It will make you want to read another book from Amy Tan. I strongly recommend it, even if you are not normally into emotional books about family.

Review: The Joy Luck Club was a very easy book to read and understand. The book tells the stories of four mothers and their daughters and the contrast between the way they were raised. The mothers were all raised in old fashioned Chinese tradition, while the daughters were raised here in America. There was a constant struggle for communication and understanding between the mothers and their daughters trying to get the other to understand them. The book was a little confusing because of the constant switching between the character's stories, watching the movie helps to discern which stories are which. Mooooo.....
