Summary: Terrific!
Review: For some reason I've been reading pilot books so far this summer. The Pilot's Wife is a spellbinding novel, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then a friend recommended The Triumph and the Glory, a book with a little different approach than Shreve's, but so well crafted and written with such style and grace that it captivated me all through, then capped it all with an ending that left me aglow. Two great books, I highly recommend them both!

Summary: Wonderful!! I coudn't put it down!
Review: I started reading this book and I did not stop. I read until 1:00 in the morning. I took me 1 day. The story is so easy to follow. One thing leads to another, and there's just no place to stop, you keep wondering what could happen next. I almost didn't read this book because the comments were so negative, but I'm glad I did. An excellent book.

Summary: What a glorious book!
Review: What a wonderfully written story! I could feel the heart of each and every one of the characters. The ending was a tad bit empty but I don't care, I loved every page I read along the way. I really liked how the writer took you back in time and then came back to present day, an interesting style. Ladies esp., don't miss reading this book!

Summary: A SOLID read throughout with a bit of a weak ending.
Review: This book was an extremely interesting and enjoyable read. It kept me entertained until we found out the secret that Jack was keeping in London. Once this secret was out, I think the book lost its zest. Basically the last twenty pages were the weak link to an other wise very entertaining read. Shreves' writing is extremley detailed and she makes you feel like you are right there. Recommended -**** out of *****.

Summary: Thumbs down!!!!!
Review: Very disappointing!!! Too many gaps; the writer jumps all over the place. After reading 3/4 of the book, the plot is reveal and it turns out to be a dud going downhill fast!

This is first grade reading.

Summary: A Book that once you pick it up you can not put it down
Review: Don't all women wish they had Kathryns strength. To be betryed is one thing but to be betrayed and not be able to morn, and go on with life with the dignaty she carries is a compliment to all women.

Summary: Quick summer reading....
Review: I just finished _The Pilot's Wife_ last night. My assessment? It falls somewhere between "great literature" and "crap." :) In other words, a mildly entertaining and generally average read.

A good choice if you have a short attention span....it only takes a couple of hours to read from cover to cover. So, grab this book, pour yourself an iced tea, and settle in to your favorite lawn chair.....after all, your brain deserves a summer vacation too!!

Summary: A very enjoyable read!
Review: This was great fun to read. It was hard to put down and easy to pick right back up. It will not change your life but it will take you on a suspenseful rollercoaster off which you will not want to go.

Summary: disappointing
Review: considering it was an Oprah Book Club book, I was truly disappointed at the pace of the book.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: touching beginning; disappointing ending
Review: After listening to Oprah rave about this book, I ran right out and bought it. I had just experienced a death in my family and found Shreve's description of the grieving process quite accurate. As I read the book, I felt better knowing I wasn't the only one feeling that way. However, as the book drug on, I was ready for more action and less emotions. I was especially disappointed in the obscure ending. I guess I figured Oprah had better taste than that.
