Summary: Sparks best novel so far!
Review: To me, "The Rescue" was by far the best Nicholas Sparks book yet. Being a volunteer firefighter myself, I could almost feel what Taylor McAden was feeling when he was faced with the situations at the fire scenes in the book. All of Sparks books are excellent, but this one is my favorite. I normally don't read a lot of books, but I have definately read all of his. This is a must read for everyone.

Summary: One hit wonder...
Review: I have been faithful to Nicholas Sparks since I first read THE NOTEBOOK. That story was so touching and insightful, I ran to the bookstore everytime another one of his collections of wise words was released. Unfortunately, I set myself up for disappointment, again. While his thrid book, A WALK TO REMEMBER, did redeam him a little bit after that nightmare, MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE, it was not nearly the repeat performance I was still expecting. Here again, no different. The story is predictable, sappy, cheesy, and ... predictable. Entertaining? Yes, somewhat. Could I put it down? Yes, definately. Would I recommend it? Not really. Especially if you have expectations about Sparks's stories aleady. Don't run to the bookstore (or the web page) to buy it. If you are curious, i might be willing to commit to its worthiness of paperback. Or, just wait for the movie that is sure to follow.

Summary: This book will touch your heart.
Review: I've read all of Nicholas Sparks's books and for Sparks' fans, this one will be no dissappointment. He has a way of making his characters come alive. You can't help but empathize with them as you feel their pain, their loniless, their joy, and even their love. I especially enjoyed reading about little Kyle and could picture this sweet little boy with his speech impediment and language problem. What a special joy he was to his mother.

I didn't think the plot (if there was a plot) was all that well constructed and the fire and rescue chapters seem almost disjointed with the rest of the book. However, it did not stop me from enjoying the book and the heartfelt sentiments that always come through in Sparks writing style.

I'm already looking forward to Spark's next book.

Summary: Heart-touching!
Review: I had never been much of a romance reader until my sister-in-law told me how amazing Nicholas Sparks was. I got an Advanced Readers Copy back in August and began to read....I suddenly finished the book and realized I had not put it down or paused to even go to the bathroom. Since then, I have purchased all of his backlist and I am very much hoping they touch my heart like "Rescue" did. The ending is one of those that make you pause and think about life momentarily. I recommend this book to anyone who can love, has loved or is in search of love. :-)

Summary: Nicholas does it again!
Review: What a wonderful story! I, like other reviewers, could not put this book down. The author does an excellent job of developing the characters and describing the emotions in a variety of situations. I highly recommend this book. If you're not already a fan of Nicholas Sparks, you will be after reading this book.

Summary: You won't be able to put it down......
Review: I read this book in one afternoon. It's such a touching and realistic story. You'll identify with the characters.

If you liked "Message in A Bottle", "the Notebook" and "A Walk to Remember", you won't be disappointed. Nicolas Sparks is getting better and better. A must read!

Summary: Another one of those "can't put it down" books
Review: Nicholas Sparks does it again. I couldn't put it down (I read it all in a day). This book gives you that "warm-fuzzy" feeling about the world along with the sadness that life can bring. Absolutely wonderful book! If you've never read Nicholas Sparks, its a must....you are sure to become addicted!

Summary: Not so great
Review: This is a pretty average book, taking the same formula (more or less) as Mr. Sparks' previous novels. The quality that earns the three stars (as opposed to two or less) is the engaging writing style of the author.

Summary: Sparks Delivers Again!
Review: As an avid fan of Sparks work, I was very pleased to begin another one of his books. While I thought "A Walk to Remember" was definitely not as good as either of his previous novels, he rebounds back with "The Rescue".

The characters were well developed and true. The romance, as in all of Sparks books, leaves you wanting to read more and more, which is why this book will go very quickly. The side story of the firefighter and her young son also add a lot in the mix.

Where Sparks shines in all of his books is that every one of his characters has a tragedy that they are faced with, which makes it much more real than so many other romance novels. His characters and their love aren't fairy tale perfect or easy, but yet you feel like their love is so real and true. Sparks really has a knack for making his romance novels so moving and enjoyable.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking forward to a great romance and true love!

Enjoy!

Summary: Wonderful, as always
Review: Nicholas Sparks has done it again. He has written a book that is full of detail and real people! I just finished "The Rescue" and have to say that I couldn't put it down. Taylor and Denise both have some pretty intense issues to deal with, and Mr. Sparks writes in a way that you can feel the emotions within each character as if you were experiencing them for yourself.

I've read all of Mr. Sparks books and would recommend them all! Great reading!
