Summary: Not quite the same as his other books, but still worth a read
Review: By far, The Notebook is Mr. Sparks best novel..The Rescue used a different writing style but I still felt his presence in this book. A nice read, I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: It was was kind-of corny
Review: I would have liked it better if it did not focus so much on the little boy. They also made Denise pathetic. I was really disapointed. After reading this book I was hesitint to read more by Spark. I did however, just finish A WALK TO REMEMBER by Spark. It was very good and enjoyable.

Summary: good but not great
Review: I just finished reading Nicholas Sparks new book, 'The Rescue' and while good, it did not stir any real emotions in me, as did his first two book, "the notebook", and "message in a bottle"...When I read those two books, I could feel what these people were feeling, and my heart was moved...and although this book was good...something was missing for me...the firefighting episodes somehow did not just fit in...its as if they were written in as a afterthought...and at the end, when he goes back to Denise....wanting her to finally listen to him, about where his head has been at...I could have cared less...I didn't find myself caring about this couple..I felt more actually for Mitch and Melissa...I am glad I read it, but it wont be on my favorite list....

Summary: "Rescue "Your Heart
Review: This book has it all. It's a great story and I highly recommend it. Of all of the novels written by Nicholas Sparks, I think this would have to be my favorite. One can truly connect with the characters in this book. It's also good to know that this novel ends on a happy note, without regrets between the characters.

Summary: The best Nicholas Sparks Novel yet.
Review: "The Rescue" is the most wonderful novel Nicholas Sparks has written so far as far as im concerned. I loved the other novels...laughed and cried through them and I couldn't wait to get to read another one. He has such an excellent way of expressing himself and making a very clear visual picture for me. The setting of the book made a good feel for this beautiful love story. I feel like i actually know these characters and I miss them already. If you have a chance to read this book....please do, you wont be sorry. I'm looking forward to his next one.

Summary: A little disappointed
Review: I love Nicholas Sparks! The Notebook and Message in a Bottle were GREAT but Sparks' last two books have left me disappointed. The Rescue is a good book but not the excellent read I expected.

Summary: Amazing story of love and hope
Review: The Rescue is Nicholas Sparks' latest book and his best one to date!!! I have been totally captivated by all of his books, but this one is by far, to me, his best love story. Once I picked up this book, I could not put it down and stayed up till the wee hours finishing the book!!

I find the sensitivity portrayed in Sparks' books unusual for a male author. His insight and tenderness seem to wash over the reader in waves, engulfing you and tugging at your heartstrings. His characters come alive as, we too, can feel the depth of their pain, joy, and their emotions.

This love story is a story of broken love, hurt and betrayal experienced by both Denise and Taylor. Yet, both characters are seeking, in their own ways, to love and trust again. But first, they both must learn to let go of the past, their deep hurts, and realize that their past cannot be compared to the present. Until they step beyond the realization that they cannot compare events that happened to them in the past to their current situation, they cannot have a future. Denise is able to successfully do this and to stand strong in her convictions, but Taylor struggles constantly with this and until he finally realizes that he needs to heal by letting go of his past which continually haunts him, otherwise he will never be able to find happiness or peace in his life. Interestingly enough, I think we all can see a part of ourselves in this story as well. We can choose to be happy now, learn from our past mistakes, forgive ourselves and move on, or we can wallow in the past and make ourselves absolutely miserable. Once again, our choice! Seeing Taylor experiencing his pain and his struggles in letting go were very enlightening, moving, and so real. Sparks brings his reader to a depth of emotions like no other. Yet the message here is in trusting and letting love weave its magic and healing, when one finds the right partner in life.

The story is genuine, modern, and real and not some far fetched fantasy world. My only complaint was Kyle's speech impediment became a bit too much for the reader. I think the point was made early on.

I absolutely loved this book and eagerly await the next book by Nicholas Sparks!

Summary: The Rescue
Review: This book is right up there with Out of the Blue. I could not put it down! I've read all of Nicholas Sparks' books. Up until now my favorite was Message in a Bottle, but The Rescue is the best yet. I can't wait for his next book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Greatest Yet!!
Review: Ever since I read Nicholas Spark's first book, The Notebook, I have been hooked on to his imagination and creativity in his writing. I have just finished The Rescue and I thought it was the best yet. He really knows how to grab a reader's attention and emotion and twist them around so many times that you catch yourself talking to the people in the book telling them what to do. I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in the out-of-the-ordinary love story.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: My least favorite Nicholas Sparks book
Review: If you have recently read any of the other Nicholas Sparks books and were waiting in anticipation for this next one (as I was), please don't get your hopes up. Although "The Rescue" isn't a bad book, it doesn't provide the same emotional thrill ride that the previous three books provided.
