Summary: The best book I've ever read!
Review: I read this book after I checked it out from a bookmobile
I have read thousands of books in my life but this one tops them all
I teach at an elementary school and after reading The Notebook I let several others read it too
Everyone agreed this book is one everyone should read
There are no words to express how wonderful this book is
It captures any reader of any age
Lastly, I want to be loved like that

Summary: read this
Review: I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down all night. I started it at ten and ended at 3AM I cried my eyes out. I also gave a copy of it to my best friend and she hated me for it because it made her miss her fiance who was out at sea even more. This definitely is something that everyone needs to read to remind them of what love is about.

Summary: Reading this book reveals a tender hearted soul, uncommon.
Review: I will always treasure this book as being one of my favorites. Noah was one of those special souls who searched his mind for detailed memories of a person so very special to him. He breathed for Allison until the very end, determined to know that she would die remembering who he was and nothing would set them apart.

Summary: Not a 'Great American Novel' . . .
Review: This is NOT the Great American Novel, but it is a touching story and a really good cry! Those looking for literature should know by looking at it that The Notebook isn't for them, but anyone looking for a great love story, this is for you.

Summary: Critics are right
Review: Supporters of this novel are wrong in suggesting that critics have no literary taste or are heartless. Critics are...well, right. Completely.

Summary: One big maudlin cliche
Review: I find it disheartening (and yet amusing) that this book received any positive appeal whatsoever. It is also quite amusing that this book moved some to tears. Instead of provoking tears, the thick, sickenly mawkish mood thoroughly disgusted me. Furthermore, the poor writing style was a "big turn off" (couldn't help myself...) as were the never ending cliches. Although the book has many flaws, I will mention just one more: the lack of strong conflict. Perhaps I'm being naive, but I believe strong conflict is essential to a well-written novel; The Notebook has no strong conflict (if any conflict at all). In fact, Sparks, for some odd reason, skips over what could have easily have been the most compelling scene in the book: Allie's confrontation with her fiance Lon. Instead of providing the audience with some tangible conflict, Sparks decides to instead leap 49 years forward. After suffering through this book, I recommend that those who haven't read it don't; this book has no reedeeming qualities, (except for making you appreciate REAL literature a little more than before) and can only be detrimental to your present mental state.

Summary: Romance and love knocking at your heart
Review: I gave it a 9 because it was a little bit short, I wish it would have go into more detail. The story is a credible one, I lived something similar to what Noah lived, only she marry the other guy! It is very sensual and even erotic, without being vulgar or shameless. Very romantic. The second part is one of inspiration and devotion to true love and loyalty. It was recommended to me by a very romantic friend. I read it while I was away from home in Bosnia with the Army, mad at my wife, and it help me to assess my position as a husband and re-commit myself to my wife and being a better husband and lover. Not a book to be read with the mind, but with the heart. A re-born romantic

Summary: PLEASE...
Review: I simply don't understand how people can give this awful book a 10. What else have they read, or better yet, what haven't they read? Perhaps it was the small size of the book that was so appealing... Can hardly wait to see the movie - NOT! At least I borrowed the book, wasting my precious time and not a dime.

Summary: Need a good cry?
Review: I read this book in one sitting. I started crying around page 95, and didn't stop until about half an hour after I'd finished. It's like the author had all my buttons (true love, alzheimers, the South)lined up in a row and pushed them hard. Sure this book is schmaltzy, sure it's no great work of lit-rit-ture, but it is a great read if you want a good cry.
