Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Could not put it down!!!! Left me smiling! Review: I usually do not read Ms. Steele's works. I bought this due to the title as I love Ghost stories. This book was so touching and the best book I ever read! I could not put it down and had to stop myself from going to the end to see what happened. When I got to the last page......I could not stop smiling. Like Charlie with Sarah I began to feel like I knew Charlie and Francesca/Sarah and Froncoise. I LOVED THIS BOOK!
Rating: Summary: One of Ms. Steel's finest (in my opinion). Review: I think that this was truly an excellent book. It combines the past and present into one story. The book keeps you waiting to find out what is on the next page. Not only is it a romantic story, but you also learn some valuable lessons from it. It is a page-turner and I strongly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Held my interest Review: The book held my interest primarily because I was expecting more interaction between Charlie and Sarah. The title of the book made me expect more than what I got from the text. I would have liked there to have been a family connection between Sarah and Francesca. The book had a lot of historical detail which was a bit much for me.
Rating: Summary: Captivating Review: Wow...I couldn't put this book down. It has been a long time since I have read a book that I became so engulfed by. Danielle struck chords in me and helped me escape from the stresses of daily life. If you want to get lost in a captivating, warming, passionate book buy The Ghost by Danielle Steel
Rating: Summary: And and and and and and so on Review: I agree with one of the previous reviewers, I have noticed the "and this and that" throughout all of Danielle Steele's books. I don't read Danielle Steele very often. A friend of mine loaned me this book and it wasn't bad. I did enjoy Sarah's story much more than Charlie's. I'd say Sarah's story was a 4 and Charlie's a 2. I also felt that Ms. Steele went too in depth into Charlie's life with his ex-wife and their feelings for eachother and how hurt Charlie was. Get over it! She left him for an OLD man! If that wasn't in the story, I felt it could have been much better.
Rating: Summary: Light, easy reading without too much fluff. Review: I don't normally read Danielle Steele because I find her novels sooooo sappy, but this one was a gift from a friend. I enjoyed the love story between Francoise and Sarah, and I liked the way their love eventually affected the relationship between Francesca and Charlie. Danielle Steele does a fine job of not going overboard with the romance stuff, and the novel ends up believable and pleasant reading. It isn't a stay-up-all-night novel, but it's good reading for something to do. I thought the author carried off the ghost part well too, not making it too fantastic but just enough to keep the reader intrigued. All in all, a good (not great) job by Danielle Steele. Whoever found that photo of her on the back cover needs to not give up their day job.
Rating: Summary: And she read yet another Steel novel and counted the "And"s Review: Has anyone else noticed just how many sentences Danielle Steel begins with the word "And"? Drives me nuts! It's gotten so that I can't read her books without being distracted by her writing style. This story was ok, but I think it would have been much better if she'd written it strictly as a historical romance--fleshed out Sarah and Francois' story, perhaps including details of how their children's lives turned out, and left the modern day stuff out of it. Charles and Francesca weren't especially interesting characters. But at least in this book she didn't have everyone dining at Spago and being on a first-name basis with Donald Trump. Oh--one more thing--who on earth selected that author photo on the back of the book? What a hoot!
Rating: Summary: Danielle Steeles Ghost not up to par with the rest. Review: Being a big fan of Danielle's many, many books, I was greatly disappointed in this one!!! I could barely get halfway through it before I said enough is enough and put it away for good. Boring boring boring.
Rating: Summary: I literally could not put this book down! Review: I began reading this book late one night and found myself still reading when the sun came up! I did not stop until I finished the entire book! This was one of my favorite books by Steel!
Rating: Summary: Boring! Review: I just kept waiting for something interesting to happen, but nothing ever did. This is only the second book of Steel's I have read and both have not interested me. I will not be reading any more of her books.
