Summary: Sweet lovestory(easy to forget)
Review: The ghost is all right a but not very remarkable at all. It is just the normal bestselling type. But if you are an teenager you'll like this sweet litle lovestory. Charles Watston is the only good person and saves the book.

Summary: Best Danielle Steel book ever !
Review: The characters in this book are easy to identify with and quickly pull you into the story with them. I loved the parallel storylines of the past and present romances. I won't spoil the book for others by revealing any more about it. If you like books by Danielle Steel and books with a historical setting, you will love this book !

Summary: Could not put it down!!
Review: My opinion, one of Daniel's best....I loved the way she got her readers so involved in the lives of Charlie, Sarah and Francois. I still had unsolved questions about what happend to Gladys and did she ever know about the journals?? And Did Charlie and Francesca ever get married and have another child?? I would like to see a Ghost II. Only two more words, "LOVED IT!"

Summary: Great Romance with a Bit of a Twist
Review: This book is a great Danielle Steel romance with a twist. What is the twist? There is a ghost involved. You must read it and you will find yourself caring for Sarah just as you would a character who is still alive.

Summary: This book made me cry!
Review: I could not put it down, Danielle Steel did a great job of bring past and present together. I feel all the emotion that Sarah had when she had her first child and was afraid she was going to lose it. It was nice to see a man, so emotional about his marriage. And you do get comfortable in a relationship. I felt sad when I finished, that I had to say good by to the characters. Outstanding Read!!!

Summary: Disappointed!
Review: What a disappointment! I always look forward to reading a new Danielle Steel novel, but I have to say -- this one was not up to her usual standards. Charlie is so sappy that I don't blame his wife for choosing an old man. He whined and "cried" throughout the entire book. Ms. Steel should have stuck with the story of Sarah and Francois -- it was the only reason I finished the book.

Summary: !
Review: The only thing worst than starting a sentence with "And", is starting with "But". As any well read reader knows these two words are conjuctives, they are meant to conjoin two ideas, that alone are phrases, yet too powerful for a mere comma. Danielle Steele starts many of her sentences with both of these words. It was very distracting and a great pet peeve of mine. Gramma aside, I was very tired after reading how all the architects in the firm were "tired" of all the "Tired" designs they were designing. I think she should research her titles and subject matter much more. I may not want to know enough about architecture to become one, but a few more details about what is involved would have been appreciated. I read to be enlightened as well as to be entertained. The main charicter (Carol's husband - I can't remember his name) whines and mopes around over his marriage, that I think he should have seen was ending a while before. Carol pacifies and babies him by talking to him when she has no plans of reconcillation, and after each conversation he feels hopeful, and laments on how he deserves her more than the man she left him for. They have the same friendly conversations over and over again, and each time the reader is given insight how Carol only wants to be friends, and the other goober still loves her. I have read up til the part he first see's the ghost, and is now trying to decide if he is going crazy and seeing things. I decided I am the one crazy for still reading this dribble when everyone is "So Tired" !!! The other flaw is that Ms. Steele says his land lady, inherited the french chateau that he is living in from her Grandmother, and later states that her late husband purchased for her 50 years before. Little things like that bothers me. Where were the proof readers that should have caught that error. I understand from previous reviews that the subplot is really good, so I'm trying to force myself to read through to the good parts, but I havn't had any desire to pick up the book again. If my eyes are going to water, I'd perfer it to be from something useful like plucking my eyebrows than from boredom. I'll revise this review if I ever get past the whines and cries of the sappy charicters. --

Summary: Enveloping
Review: This has to be one of the most poignant and enthralling books I have ever read. It was very hard to put the book down for even a second. It was beautifully written. The storyline was unique in that it switched from the present time to more than 200 years ago without missing a beat. The intertwining of the characters of old and new was wonderful!! Bravo, Ms. Steele.

Summary: A wonderful story within a story!!!
Review: I absolutely loved this story and have recommended it to all my friends.

The book starts out slowly as you experience the break up of Charlie's marriage. It grows and develops as Charlie grows through his divorce and new life. The sub-plot of the ghost leads the reader to a wonderful "journey". I thoroughly enjoyed watching the development of the ghost's character as well as Charlie's. I also enjoyed the history surrounding the ghost's life and experiences. The characters stayed with me for days after I finished the book.

Summary: so so
Review: I am a big fan of Danielle Steel and have loved so many of her books,so this really surprised me. I honestly couldn't stand the "hero" Charlie. He drove me crazy!! I thought he was so wimpy. I had no respect for this guy halfway through the book.. I found it hard to believe any woman would really be interested in him. Was it not for the introduction of the story between Sarah and Francois, I would not have had any interest in finishing. Danielle should have just written a story about them,I loved their story.
