Rating: Summary: Excellent Read, Definately a page turner. Review: Danielle Steel's newest book, The Ghost, is an excellent read. It is vintage Steel, and will keep the reader wanting more.
The story weaves the lives of four characters, each becoming interwoven with the other one. I think that this is one of the best books that Steel has wrote! I recommend it to everyone! It is definately a page turner!
Rating: Summary: It was super! I felt like Charlie after I finished it. Review: I am always amazed at how sad it is to put one of these novels down at the end. I get caught up into the story as if I am right there. I felt like Charlie did after he finished reading the journals. Much fun to read. Can't wait to see what comes next from Ms. Steel

Rating: Summary: Steel 's fluff is good fluff this time.. Review: Danielle Steel is predictable, and usually I just read along, kind of knowing what will happen and accepting it, but this time she has a unique approach. In THE GHOST, Steel does a double: a modern-day love story entwined with one from the early 1800's. The result is better than usual; the characters, Charlie and Francesca, Sarah and Francois, are more interesting than Steel's usual girl gets hurt, girl gets brave, girl gets a new wonderful life characters. I kept reading because the anguish that both Charlie and Francesca had gone through with their respective mates was realistic, plus the abuse that Sarah had gone through with her husband in England made me want to scream. Steel's two-century story line made this book a better read than she's usually achieved. Like Charlie, I didn't want the journal entries from Sarah to end. This book took me a day and a half to read, and the day was a school day. My advice to readers of Danielle Steel is to accept her with her limitations and when a pleasant departure from her usual fluff comes along, as is the case with THE GHOST, just sit back and enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Emotions Review: The book I'm reading is called "The Ghost". It's about a man named Charlie Waterson. Charlie seemed to have the perfect life. But when he finds out that his wife was cheating on him, everything from there went down hill. He lost his job, self-esteem, and his hope for a new love. He then decides to transfers his job to New York because his boss wanted him to do so. When Charlie arrives, he realizes he needs time off, and then plans to go on a ski trip in Vermont. On his way there Charlie gets caught in a show storm, he pulled to the side of the road and found an Inn where he meets an elderly widowed woman named Gladis. Gladis tells him about a story of a woman that used to live there in the 18th century. Amazing things starts to happen in the house he stays at. Charlie being convinced that there's a ghost he discovers a lot more.
This is just one of many of my favorite books by Danielle Steel. I really do enjoy this book very much. It was a story of Sarah Fergonson (The Ghost) and her rough life she experienced and left behind by coming to a new world. Charlie was turned around after reading Sarah's diaries that he found in the house he was staying at. These diaries he reads about Sarah's life intrigues him to learn more about her. But the question still remains to whether or not he will learn to love again, also if he'll ever get over his past love life. I really do think Charlie was meant to find these diaries, because it just might be the antidote he needs to look at a different aspect of loving and to live life.
Rating: Summary: Quick, weekend read...cozy up! Review: I had left Danielle Steel a long time ago, this book was a nice comeback for me. The depth at which she is able to describe Charles' heartbreak is so true to life. There are still a few trademarks of the author in here though, "Little one" is a reference I find in most if not all her books I have read.
Rating: Summary: Best Book I've Ever Read Review: Annotation: "The Ghost" is about a named Charlie Waterston, who appeared to have the perfect life. He had a beautiful wife, a wonderful job and a great house in the heart of London, but his life comes crashing down when his wife leaves him for another man. Uncertain of what to do next, Charlie decides to take a ski trip to Vermont, where he meets an elderly widow, who shows him her family house and tells her the tale of the 18th century women, Sarah Ferguson, who once lived there. Drawn to the tale of love and heartache, Charlie Waterston finds the courage to open his heart and love again. Author Bio: Born and raised in New York, Danielle Steel began her writing career by writing and publishing poems in women's magazines in the 1970's. Her first novel, "Going Home", was published in 1973. Eighty five million copies of her books have been sold around the world to forty two different countries. Twenty-one of her novels have been made into movies. Along with mature, adult novels, Danielle Steel has also written numerous children stories. Evaluation: "The Ghost" is about a young man named Charlie Waterston, who lived a perfect life in London, or so it seemed. Charlie had the perfect life, a prosperous job and a wonderful house, but his world comes crashing down when his wife of thirteen years tells him that she is leaving him for another man. Heartbroken and ashamed, Charlie decides to move back to New York because his boss wanted him to work out of the New York branch instead of the London branch. Trying to look on the bright side of things, Charlie moves to New York. Once there, he decides he cannot work there and chooses to go on a much desired ski trip to Vermont. Caught in a terrible snow storm, Charlie pulls off the road and meets an elderly, widowed woman, who shows him her old family house, in which Charlie rents. The house was once owned by Sarah Ferguson, in the 18th century. Incredible things begin to happen in the house, and Charlie is convinced that it is haunted by a ghost. Interested, Charlie goes to the library and meets a wonderful woman, who has also given up on love. Charlie finds old diaries from Sarah and learns about her world. Bringing two worlds together, Charlie and the women from the library are encouraged by the dairies to give love another try. This was by far my favorite book that I have read by Danielle Steel. I thought the book was very creative because it was like two stories in one. The story of Sarah Ferguson and her hardship coming to the new world was remarkable and exciting. Charlie's world has turned around after reading Sarah's dairies. He learned that you should never give up on love even if you have been hurt in the past. The diaries helped Charlie to love again. I feel that the whole book was based on fate. It was fate that there happened to be a snow storm in Vermont, and Charlie met the widowed woman, who in turn, rent out her family house to him. There, he was inspired by Sarah to not let life pass him by. I feel that the book was well written and exciting. I could not put the book down. It was a creative way to include two stories in one to show that no matter what happens life goes on.
Rating: Summary: Horrible Review: This was a wonderful ghost story by this author. I loved how she wrapped the love story around what is ordinarily a scary theme. In this case it was a love theme. After all love overcomes all. Read if for yourself and see what you tthink. This is another Steel winner novel!!! Beverly C. Sanders
