Summary: What a satisfying love story!
Review: Acclaimed author Barbara Delinsky has once again flashed her creative side in this explosive novel about reuniting a family torn apart by big business. Summary: Great love story
Review: This is a classic love story, but for most of the book, it's one-sided. That's because the ex-wife is in a coma!This would make a great movie. Three Wishes (with Patick Swayze) was written by this author. Loved the movie. This book didn't disappoint. It took a little bit for the story to get going, but not long, and when it did, you were drawn in to the characters lives. I thought the sub-plots really helped with keeping interest alive. I definately recommend this book for the romantics out there.

Review: One of those books I couldn't put down. I picked it up quite by surprise, as it had been on my bookshelf for a while. With fall in the air, it seemed a great book to snuggle up with. Not disappointed. Now I just wish she'd write a sequel to it and carry us along through Jack And Rachel's reuniting!

Summary: Winding Tale
Review: Great realistic view of a situation. Delightfully written and enjoyable to spend time with. This would be a great book to take while on vacation. The interaction between father and daughters is thoughtfully put to paper. His thoughts and actions were stunningly accurate for a man in that position. Great job of writing since you are kept guessing about the ending.

Review: I really enjoyed this book. The area sounds wonderful and Ms Delinsky teaches so much about the lake and the loons, the detail is marvelous and you feel as if you are there too. The characters are interesting and likeable. It's a very good story.

Summary: The Best of Delinsky!!!
Review: I've read four of Barbara Delinsky's books, and so far this is my favorite. Some of the others have bittersweet endings, but I'm a sucker for happy ones. I like the way this book explores the differences between men and women in the ways they think and communicate while also acknowledging the commonalities. Jack's interaction with his daughters is realistic; he has to deal with issues that all parents face in these times.

Summary: A wonderful story!
Review: It was nice to read a family story from a man's perspective, as we usually read them from the woman's side. The family members must deal with a tragedy, with the Mom of teenage girls in a coma, and the ex-husband pitching in to help his daughters, and ultimately his ex-wife. Ms. Delinsky really lets you get to know the characters and feel what they are going through, which includes learning about themselves. I didn't find it to be too slow, it kept you interested and rooting for them all. It was my 2nd Delinksy book, but "For My Daughters" is still my favorite.

Summary: My favorite Delinsky book
Review: I've read 5 of Barbara Delinsky's books and this was my favorite. The main character, Jack, is likeable and relatable, and the story is touching. It also keeps you intrigued because you don't know if Rachel, the comatose wife, will make it or not. I agree with one of the other reviewers in the fact that I thought Rachel should have shared more of the responsibility in the dissolution of their marriage, but I suppose many women wish that their husbands would say sorry first and take majority of the blame, so at least Delinsky was catering to what a lot of her readers would probably want. Anyway, read this book for Delinsky's superior writing and a message on the importance of communication in relationships.

Summary: less than satisfying effort
Review: I am assuming that Delinsky does more plot development in other novels than this one. While I will give her a second chance, I was disappointed by Coast Road. It seemed to focus in on the man's point of view. This isn't, in and of itself, a bad thing even for a female writer. The bad thing is that when the female character spends the majority of the book in a coma, you don't learn much about her or her motivations. Delinsky does have a vehicle for providing us with insight into this woman - through her reading group - but she doesn't take full advantage of the opportunity. In the end, all comes together with a less than beliveable fairytale quality, making you truly wonder why the two people were ever estranged to begin with. If you're new to Delinsky like me, best to try another of her novels. If you're an avid fan, you could take the plunge, but know what you're in for.

Summary: Not a Formula Book
Review: I feel that this is one of Delinsky's best. It is definately not a typical Romance-formula plot. The characters are full and interesting and written from the ex-husband's point of view as he moves back to stay with his 2 daughters while their mother is in a coma in the hospital. Through the girls and his ex-wife's friends he learns about the woman his ex-wife is and re-views their relationships and the break-up. He also, naturally learns a lot about himself as well.
