Summary: It was ok - not the best Danielle Steel I have read
Review: I have been reading Danielle Steel's books for over 15 years now. Sometimes they do get a bit "all the same" with most of the characters being important, successful, beautiful people who live in "stately homes" and wear "important jewels and furs". Sometimes I think the characters are more about what they have then who they are. Despite this, I always enjoy her books - they are easy to read, romantic and make you forget about everyday life for a couple of hours while engrossed in the book. Personally I think her earlier books are more enjoyable and get more involved in the characters than some of the later books she has written.
This is one of those books about the "beautiful" people. I enjoyed the romance and the wedding planning but felt that it wasn't as good as some of Danielle Steels earlier books - "Thurston House", "Palomino" and "Changes" for example. The story in this book never seems to get developed as well as it could of been. I finished the book wanting to know more. If you are a die-hard fan you will enjoy.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: I've been a Steel fan for over 10 years, I've read every single one of her books...and I have to say I am most pleased with The Wedding!

Many of her recent books are missing something, there's no denying that, however, The Wedding has that old spark, it's not missin' a thing!

If you love Danielle Steel, you'll absolutely love this book. It's in a league with some of her earlier works like Star, Changes and Message from Nam. I really enjoyed this book, cover to cover! I'm hoping that she keeps up the great work.

Summary: I just couldn't get into this book
Review: I usually read right before im going to bed, and i just couldnt get into this book, the information was the same and it was all very predictable. Im sure that if i wouldve finished it, then i would have loved it, because i love almost all of danielle steel's books. If you havent read most of them, then your missing out, so stop reading this boring passage, and get into a book of hers.

Summary: The Wedding
Review: I have read every Danielle Steel book and have always enjoyed the characters, the story lines and plots---most of her books are easy to read in a short time while being thoroughly entertaining. In The Weddding, I found it to be a great story with very realistic people with true-to-life stresses even if they're the Hollywood crowd. However, I feel that perhaps the author is beginning to focus on quantity rather than quality in writing her novels. The sentences tend to run together, with too many "and" words, they lack descriptive words and phrases--just becoming a jumble of too many words running together. If you can look past that, the story is entertaining. Perhaps she should take more time, write less novels and concentrate more on her grammar, words and style of writing----the way she wrote in her best novels from years ago. I will, on the other hand, continue to buy and read all her books-----they're an escape from reality of life. And I'll always enjoy that aspect of her writing.

Summary: Has She Lost What She Once Had???
Review: I was glad to find that the story was far more engaging than most of her recent efforts, and in some ways tries to recall her writing of past. It most closely resembles her past writing in manner and theme, the successful Hollywood family ... perfect from the outside but has many blemishes within the circle. This isn't as good as Ms. Steele once wrote but is better then her most recent. I was a dedicated Danielle Steel reader and really had been very disappointed in her writing that I quit buying her all together and I love Nora Roberts. Steele over uses plain words and makes her characters named after a real person...is this accident? She has become more than predictable and almost at the point of ' trash ". She did decent job writing about all the hassles of having a modern-day wedding. She's back on the right track, but still needs to work on her laziness storytelling. She isn't the author she once was, this book is much better then several of her latest but far, far, to what I would call great. Nora Roberts is a ' great " story teller, this book is Okay.

Summary: Much better than her other recent books
Review: After "Irresistible Forces" I vowed not to get another DS book until I read the reviews here first. Well, my husband bought "The Wedding" for me so I read it reluctantly, fearing more of the same. I was glad to find that the story was far more engaging than most of her recent efforts, and in some ways tries to recapture her writing of old. It most closely resembles "Family Album" in tone and theme -- the successful Hollywood family that looks perfect from the outside but has many imperfections within. There are several things in general, however, about DS's writing that I find so irritating as to interfere with my enjoyment of the book -- and I used to LOVE all her books until I started reading Nora Roberts and saw how much better a writer she is (at least in strictly technical terms). DS uses the word "important" no less than 5 times in the first 2 pages to convey to the simple reader that we're dealing with real Hollywood heavyweights here -- OK, we GET IT! Allegra's father, the famous producer, is not accidentally named "Steinberg" (Spielberg, get it?)and her mother's sitcom is not called "Buddies" ("Friends", anyone?) for no reason. I wish sometimes she would be less lazy in her storytelling and rely less on famous names to get her point across. And if I have to read yet again about how beautiful the main character is (in this case Allegra) but how "completely unaware" of it she is, I'll toss the book out the window. That said, the meeting and romance of Allegra and Jeff is one of the best things DS has written in a long time, and she did a fairly good job writing about all the hassles of having a modern-day wedding. She's back on the right track!

Summary: from hollywood to the jungle
Review: A friend had recommended this book. I borrowed her copy, brought it to the Costa Rican jungle while on vacation, and discovered they already had a copy in their three-shelf "library", much to my surprise!
This was an excellent source of distraction and amusement. Steele does an excellent job in transporting the reader to snowy New York, the Golden Globes and Malibu, not to mention the quick trip to Las Vegas.
The main character, Allegra, is strong and weak at the same time and evokes the reader to be her cheering section when life becomes arduous.

Summary: DS Fan all the way
Review: I have been a DS fan since I was in high school her books help you forget all your troubles their are light hearted and have great characters. I loved this book I bought it without question because her name was on and it I started to read it and I really get into it. I got a little annoyed with Allegra at times she was rich beautiful and about to be married to a man who adored her and yet she still complained anout her life but despite all that it was a great book and if you are a die hard Danielle Steel fan then you will love this novel.

I would also recommend: Secrets,Full Circle,Jewels,The Ring, Now and Forever,Palomino,Fine Things,Daddy,Remeberence,Vanished, and Malice
