Rating: Summary: excellent contemporary woman's fiction Review: Roommates Annie Clark and Jane Abbott have worked together for several years at Elmo Richardson's drug store near Boston University. With both graduating with Masters, the two intrepid women are moving to Charleston to open up a daisy shop where a customer can purchase coffee, tuna sandwiches, and personally developed cards. However, before they leave Boston, a bank robbery occurs near their home. The fleeing robber leaves $500,000 in a satchel in Annie's back seat. Though feeling a bit guilty, Annie sees the money as a security blanket from heaven. Over the years, Annie becomes very successful even as Jane leaves the business and the city to marry an accountant. As time goes on, Annie falls in love with a Hawaiian who supplies her coffee, but refuses to marry him. Over the same period, the insurance company investigator continues to press the women because he has no doubt that one of them left Boston with the non-recovered money. Ultimately, Annie secretly returns the cash with interest, but it is still not over as one of the convicted robbers plans revenge for his lingering behind bars. ANNIE'S RAINBOW is a well-written contemporary woman's fiction that reads like a biography of one strong female. The story line moves forward, though the ending seems a bit contrived. Annie is a wonderful character, but seems too perfect even with her flaws. Still, the talent of Fern Michaels to make readers believe that Annie is a real person comes shining through the plot, turning the novel into a pleasant reading experience. Harriet Klausner

Rating: Summary: You can't miss with this book! Review: I couldn't wait for this book to come out. LEt me tell you, the wait was worth it. This book held my interest all the way through. The characters were rich and full not to mention real. Then there is the moral of the story. What would I do if that happened to me. I loved Annie's rational, loved dear old Elmo. The brother was a stinker in the beginning but he sure did redeem himself. Everyone who touched Annie's life was better for it. Exceptional book.
Rating: Summary: Very entertaining book Review: I just finished reading "Celebration" on my local librarian's advice. I scurried out to buy this and liked it just as much. It was a great story line, not as intense as "Celebration" but kind of like the icing on the cake. I really liked it.
