Rating: Summary: See Jane Date Review: This was a perfect end of the day, light-hearted book. I loved wrapping up at the end of a long day and delving into this sweet story. The main character Jane is someone that anyone can relate to, with her wit and her leftover childhood anxieties. Every time I opened this book, I felt as though I was sitting right there with Jane and her friends. If you are looking for a great book that will make you smile and laugh and maybe even shed a little tear... than this is the book! Melissa Senate's writing style is great for the lover of a light, "all-girl" kind of story! Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: a good weekend read Review: When I first read the back cover of this book, I thought it would be about all the drama women go through when trying to find Mr. Right. This book was much more than that. It was about how a woman feels when everyone else is dating except for her. When she is proud of her accomplishments, but can easily discount her feelings when someone asks that dreaded question: "so are you dating anyone?" If you have felt this way and can relate, then I recommend you reading this book. I'm sure all women have felt the way Jane felt after losing significant people in your lives and trying to protect yourself at all costs.
Rating: Summary: A Great Summertime read Review: This book is great...you can just pick it up and read a little here and there(I had atrouble taking a break). Perfect to take with you and read whenever you get a chance. I highly recommend this book to anyone from my best friend to my English teacher...all of my friends who have read it, have loved it.
Rating: Summary: See Melissa Senate Excell. Review: Blind dates are a necessary evil for many single women in this country. In SEE JANE DATE, we follow Jane Gregg on her power-dating spree which she undergoes in order to find the man of her dreams. And did I mention she's already described this as yet unidentified man in detail to her old high school rival who's expecting to see the two of them together at an upcoming wedding?Naturally, Jane's blind dates provide endless opportunities for horror and humor (after dating one Dr. Timothy Rommely, Jane fantasizes they'll marry and she'll take the name Jane Greggely). But it's the other relationships in this novel that really make it a worthwhile read. It's all about perceptions, really, and about how nobody - not even your own self - is who you thought they were.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: Jane is under-appreciated at her job and she doesn't have a boyfriend for her cousin's wedding. She creates a boyfriend to impress an old classmate and her cousin finds out. So Jane starts dating, but due to her smoking habit that she hasn't been able to quit since her mom died, the dates don't go well. The old classmate turns out not to have the most perfect life afterall. A friendship is formed, shockingly enough for Jane and she ends up with the guy her grandmother wanted her to meet from the beginning! Overall, it was a cute read. I really enjoyed it! But then again, I haven't found a Red Dress Ink book that I haven't liked.
Rating: Summary: The Plain Jane In All of Us Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. Jane Gregg is one of those characters that you stay awake until 2 a.m. when you have to work the next morning, reading about her life. On your long commute to work you are thinking, "I wonder what's going to happen to Jane?" She is an adorable woman that I believe any single female can relate to. Her hopes, fears, triumphs, disappointments, and best of all her friends; you truly get to know this character and you want so desperatley for her to catch a break. See Jane Date, is one of those books that you run home and pick up as soon as you walk in the door. Every night I looked forward to the quiet time I got spend reading all about the life of a brown haired girl from Forest Hills, trying to make her place in The Big Apple.
Rating: Summary: I don't like 'Chick Lit', but I liked this book. Review: Funny, clever, fun to read. Not an incredibly-so-great book, but definitely worth reading. And it's so quick, it only takes a few hours.
Rating: Summary: A great great read! Review: I will admit the first couple of chapters were a bit intricate and hard to follow with so much detail being placed on the functions of Jane's job and what goes into editing a memoir. Although once I surpassed those pages, I could not put the book down. It evolves into an endearing story that shows the reader that life [for women] is not all about finding the "right guy" nor making oneself out to be someone they really aren't. The last two chapters summed the book up perfectly and the ending was quite funny, but most of all very sentimental.
Rating: Summary: Dating, love, friendship and work Review: "See Jane Date" deals with Jane Gregg, who worked as an Editorial Assistant for Posh, a publishing company. Jane had been single for sometimes and desperately needed a date to attend her cousin's wedding. Her best friends, Amanda and Eloise set her up for blind dates with various guy so that Jane would have a date for the wedding. At the same time, she had been working for Posh for six years and had no proper recognition for her hard work and Jane was striving for a promotion. She was also assigned to work with Natasha, a small time actress, on a memoir she was writing. Jane and Natasha used to go to high school together and Jane resented the fact that Natasha was the popular girl in school who also stole the guy she had a crush on. In short, Jane felt like a loser for not able to get a boyfriend and that everyone else seemed to have things going for them. "See Jane Date" was very well written. It contained elements such as love, friendship and work that made this book appealing to single women. Friendship is a big theme in this book where Jane could always count on Eloise and Amanda for support no matter what. It is also quite amusing to see Jane going on blind dates in a desperate attempt to find someone to care for her especially since she lost her parents at a young age. This book has its funny moments and it's not the laugh out loud kind. "See Jane Date" is different from other chick lit books in the sense that Jane came to a realization that she was indeed blessed to have friends who cared for her a great deal, a career, and independence.
Rating: Summary: Great dating book Review: I loved this book. It was so real. And I sobbed at the end. Good, light reading, but meaningful. I totally recommend it.
