Rating: Summary: Laugh-out-Loud Funny! Captivating! Review: Pushing 30 was a fabulous read. I am not an avid reader and find it difficult to "get into" books. As soon as I started Pushing 30, I could not put it down. Ellie, was so much like me, I couldn't help but think that Ms. Gaskell was somehow living inside my head. The pop-culture references were so much fun, but not overdone at all. I would highly recommend this book to all the "Good Girls" out there. I can't wait for Ms. Gaskell's next book!

Rating: Summary: A little too long... Review: The book is well-written but a bit too long ...most chapters and details can be shortend without loosing the quality and well...it's just another romantic comdey...I don't see much novelty in it...it's an OK read I guess...
Rating: Summary: A Fun Story Review: This book is lighthearted and fun to read. I enjoyed it, and I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a book to escape with. Ellie is a fun character that I was easily able to relate to.
Rating: Summary: Super Book, Awful Cover Review: This book was a gem! I was hooked from beginning to end on the character of Ellie Winters, and was sad to reach the end of the book. The ending - the entire book actually - was very satisfying. Ellie, an almost 30 year old litigation attorney, has great friends, a string of ex's, a so-so relationship with her family, and goes to a job every day that isn't fulfilling. Her life takes a turn when she meets Ted Langston, a 50 something newsman from Washington D.C. The story follows the budding May-December romance between Ellie/Ted, and the problems they encounter along the way. If felt that the character of Ellie was very mature in her decisions and actions, and yet also very girly - she makes the same mistakes all of us women seem to make when we're falling in love, and she is very easy to identify with and like. I was really pulling for Ellie the whole time and enjoyed her character very much. The cover art is hideous and hides what is a very remarkable debut book. Definitely qualifies as above-average chick-lit. I look forward to Gaskell's next book and hope it's as great as this was!
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money Review: This book was horrible. The writing was average, at best. The plot was just like 10,000 other books out there right now. The characters were flat and uninteresting. I expected to have a few laughs with the book, but I didn't laugh once. It was a big waste of money.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: VERY entertaining! If you're searching for a well written, FUNNY novel then your search is over!
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money Review: Well written, great characters. I really enjoyed this book, it was exactly what I was looking for, something light and fun I could read while curled up in my rocking chair with a hot cup of tea. It is like "Bridget Jones meets Sex & the City", but with an original flare that only Whitney Gaskell can create. And just for the record...I really liked the ending :P

Rating: Summary: Laugh-out-loud funny! Review: Whitney Gaskell has a breezy writing style, and her debut novel is laugh-out-loud funny. I thought her characters were well-developed, and I had a hard time putting the book down. Since I've read about a thousand "chick-lit" novels, I did find some of the plot predictable. But that didn't get in the way of me thoroughly enjoying this quick read. I am eagerly awaiting Whitney's next novel!!
