Rating: Summary: A journey of Love Review: I have been reading Danielle Steel's books for over 15 years now. Sometimes they do get a bit "all the same" with most of the characters being important, successful, beautiful people who live in "stately homes" and wear "important jewels and furs". Sometimes I think the characters are more about what they have then who they are. Despite this, I always enjoy her books - they are easy to read, romantic and make you forget about everyday life for a couple of hours while engrossed in the book. Personally I think her earlier books are more enjoyable and get more involved in the characters than some of the later books she has written. This is one her better earlier novels. The story of Kate and Tom's love will have you hooked from the first chapter and reading how Kate survives on her own is one of courage and strength. Very enjoyable.

Rating: Summary: Life Has It's Ups and Downs Review: I have been reading Ms. Steel's older novels and have not been disappointed yet. Even though I agree that the characters are much the same in each of the novels but the life situation is different in each book. I enjoy reading about successful people and fine living. It gives me a chance to fantasize and dream of being wealthy and how I would be living. The best I can remember, I am in the process of reading my 29th novel by Ms. Steel and plan to read more in time to come.
Rating: Summary: A book to be cherished, savored and contemplated! Review: Some have suggested that Ms. Steel's works are "all the same". Not so! I say. Not so, indeed. Ms. Steel, a consumate master of English prose and plotting, explores timeless themes of love, loss and longing. Uninformed readers might think that because Tom and Kate are so similar to so many of Ms. Steel's other characters that the writer's books display a shameful lack of originality. Not so! The themes Danielle Steel so adeptly explores in "Season of Passion" are too big and important for just one book. It takes the close analytical reading of many of Ms. Steel's works for a truly discerning reader to fully comprehend the enormity of her talent and understanding. "Season of Passion" is not "light summer reading". It is not a book to be treated like a booze-fueled fling - taken quickly and then tossed aside with nary another thought. Oh No! This is a book to be cherished, savored and contemplated. THIS is a book for the ages.

Rating: Summary: Not the best Danielle Steel Review: This is a really great book by Danielle Steel, although it is not the best Danielle Steel book I have read. The book is really exiting and very interesting and it is hard to put down, even though it sometimes feel really long. Are you a true Danielle Steel fan, then read the book. If not, it's not that necessary.
Rating: Summary: A book worth reading, but... Review: This is the first novel that I have read by Danielle Steel. I enjoyed it throughly, and would recomend it as a well written book although I had a bit of difficulty swollowing the actions of the main character concerning her husband. I thought her way of handling her husband's life altering injury set her up for a long line of bad choices. I spent my experience with this novel yelling at her for being dumb, and I am sure that took a bit of the enjoyment out of it for me. I could almost understand why she kept her husband's injury and the reasons it occured from her son, but I didn't understand why she hid her husband from her son entirely. I was equally puzzeled at her dicission to pursue romantic envolvment with another man that she would never be willing to marry until her current husband died. If her love or feeling of comitment was so strong towards her husband than the question of another romance shouldn't have enve come up. Maybe the author was trying to show something to her readers regarding human nature and morality that I just wasn't able to see. I must say that altough I had terrible feelings about most of the dicisions that the main character made I wasn't dissapointed in the way the sotry was written. It kept my attention throughout even if it also kept me atagonized.
Rating: Summary: Not her best work.. but Review: This may be due to the age of the book. According to the copyright, it was printed in 1979, so to someone who wasn't born then I find it a bit dated. The story line is very typical Danielle Steel with a rich girl meeting a wealthy guy. It's formulaic, but it has worked many times for her, so why change. The aspect of Tom after he gets injured is a bit overwhelming at times, and Kate never seems to get her romance with Nick off the ground. But I enjoyed her interaction with her son, and where Steel showed Kate's vulnerability after Tom's accident. As another reviewer said it's a read only if you're a die hard Steel fan. If not, I would recommend one of her more recent books such as the Dating Game.
Rating: Summary: Such a great story.... Review: This was one of the first DS books I read, and it got me hooked...that was 10 years ago & I've read 50 of her books since! This is such a sad story...it makes you mad, it hurts your feelings, and it can also make you happy & excited. It has some plot surprises you can't miss.
Rating: Summary: Another love... Review: This was such a good book, and i couldnt put it down. I loved every minute of it. Kate and Tom Harper are happily married when she finds out she is pregnant. Tom is a huge football star, and when the people start giving him crap about his age, he goes bezerk, and ends up shooting himself, leaving him with the mental capacity of a five year old while his pregnant wife has to deal with the rest. She then meets this handsom man, who is great to her son, Trygve, and its just a really great story. Life does have its ups and downs, and its comforting to know how other people would handle it. A must read!
