Summary: Heartwarming characters!
Review: Senate's book is based on three sisters, Sarah, Ally and Zoe.

Right off the bat, Sarah discovers she's pregnant by a a new guy she's seeing, Ally finds out the hard way that her marriage isn't picture perfect like it looks, and Zoe is stuck flying across the country to stop her whacky mom from screwing up her dad and fiance's wedding plans. Basically, the Solomon Sisters have their hands full!

Each character has their own voice, which is great because I could view their experiences through each of their unique minds. I'd have to say Zoe was my fave, because I loved her detailed observations, but all sisters were completelly wonderful. This is a moving story about how life crises can bring sisters together.

Summary: Predictable but enjoyable..
Review: So I found myself in the Fort Lauderdale airport for 10 hours and thank goodness for red dress ink books. Even though they are published by Harlequin.. which upsets me more than a little bit.. these books are great for the light reading they were meant to be. I liked how the characters were complex and acted like real sisters.. (did not talk, had issues etc..).. I think if you like Charmed or other sister type shows, you will like this book.. but no pulitzers here..its pretty predictable.

Summary: humorous chick lit tale
Review: The three Solomon sisters seem to be living the ideal Manhattan yuppie life style. Each is successful in their particular career and their love lives are blooming, but the latter will change.

Wow magazine editor Sarah has dated Griffen for two months, only to learn she is six weeks pregnant. When she explains why she is not drinking alcohol at dinner, Griffen looks like someone kicked him in the gut.

Cynical (at least about the pregnant pause of men when it comes to pregnancy) oldest sibling Ally has failed to become pregnant after years of trying. When Ally's ovulation informs her that this is the ideal time to become pregnant, she finds spouse Andrew wasting sperm on Marnie.

Youngest sister, Zoe, a dating advisor, feels like a lawyer when it comes to herself as a client. She has learned her shortcomings when her client asked her to determine whether her date is a winner, but a stunned Zoe knows him too well.

When their father announces his engagement to Giselle, who is younger than his daughters, the trio figures they still need to wise up when it comes to men.

THE SOLOMON SISTERS WISE UP is a humorous chick lit tale that rotates the story between the three siblings by alternating chapters. That makes for extra amusement when readers observe the same incident from radically different perspectives, but also difficult to follow as there are three equal subplots intersecting with their father's tale. Melissa Senate provides a solid look at modern female singles struggling to achieve in relationships what they seem to effortlessly accomplish in business All this is found inside a screwball romp.

Summary: Fresh and Entertaining
Review: This novel truly stands out above the rest when it comes to lighthearted, humorous women's literature. What makes yet another "Chick Lit" book among so many on the shelves a shining star? The reason is simple. The author.

As a single professional woman in my early 30's, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story through the perspective of each of the main characters eyes. The author, Melissa Senate, has a way of capturing the feelings and reactions of these women as they all face a major crisis in their lives which is honest, funny, and all too easy to relate to. Several times I found myself laughing out loud as I came to care about the characters. Some previous reviewers here have called to book "predictable", but it was told in such an entertaining style, in such a lively way, that I found myself anxious to turn every page.

"Solomon Sisters" is a great read for twenty and thirtysomething women, whether married, single, or divorced. The situations and characters are amazingly true to life.

Summary: very good...but...
Review: While I enjoyed the basic plot of this book, it became hard after awhile to remember who was talking in each chapter. I felt the story should have just been told by Sarah instead of jumping back and forth every chapter. All-in-all, a very good read!
