Rating: Summary: Wonderfull Book Review: Message in a bottle was an incredible book. It was first Nicholas Sparks book and definitely not my last. Once I got started I had a hard time putting it down. The movie was good but the book was even better. I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys books that make you feel the emotions of the characters.
Rating: Summary: Waste of Money and Time! Review: Let's get a "zero star rating" setup - this book deserves it!! How on earth does this fellow Nicholas Sparks become so popular??? The best bits in this otherwise atrocious book were the letters Garrett wrote to Catherine (why did I get the feeling that there was an eerie connection with "Wuthering Heights", albeit "schlockized" and dumbed down for the 21st century???). Thank heaven I saved the receipt for this one! First read the review by the "official" reviewers, THEN decide if you really want to waste your time and money on this drivel.
Rating: Summary: No Sparks In The Ending Review: There are certain stories that you enjoy a surprise ending, a "twist", if you will. This is not one of those books. I like Sparks, but he made me want to take a stiff drink after reading the ending to this book.

Garrett and Theresa are the only reound characters in the novel. Theresa's son, Garrett's father and Catherine are flat characters.
Rating: Summary: Mysterious Mesage Review: Nicholas Sparks wrote a non-fiction novel by the name of Message in a bottle. This novel allowed you to experience life from a totally diffrent point of view. You saw life from the eyes of Theresa Osborne. Theresa was a divorced mother who was waiting for a man to come into her life again and sweep her off her feet. Theresa was a column writer for the Boston Times and often worked long hours to support her son, Kevin. While Kevin left to spend his summer with his father, Theresa decided she needed a vacation of her own. While walking along the beach she came across a message in a bottle. The letter was composed by a man, Garret, who was crying out for his diseased wife. Theresa was touched by the letter so much it drove her to track him down. After long hours of research driven by determination, she found him! She met with him and it was a dream come true for her. Neither of them expected to fall in love again, but as time between them went on, they were entangles in love for one another. Message in a bottle was a very good book that i really enjoyed. When i started reading it i was so anxious to find out what would happen it was hard for me to put it down. Every chance i would get i would pick it up and read on. This book is a great love story and i think every girl or guy would enjoy reading it as much as I. Everyone has there own special love story and this book definitly gave hope to everyone to know that their special someone is out there. Throughout this novel the sequence of events were perfectly placed which made the experiences more enjoyable to read. Yet by the end of the novel the unexpected twist offsets all other events and it will shock you.

Rating: Summary: The Book is Better Than the Movie! Review: do not judge the book by the horrrible movie! I absolutely loved th book. It is so interesting, you cant put it down! Nicholas Sparks is a wonderful writer ans I reccomend all of his books! This story is sad but so romantic. The ending is different in the book than in the movie, so read it to find out what actually happens!
Rating: Summary: Another Great Book by Sparks Review: Nicholas Sparks has written many wonderful novels that I have read and enjoyed, but this has to be one of his best. I think he does a very nice job of letting you know who the characters are and bringing them to life. You can actually understand what the characters are going through, and you can relate to them throughout the book. Another reason I love Nicholas's novels so much is because they are all unpredictable. Everytime you think you know what is going to happen next, the complete opposite happens. Charachters make choices you never thought they would make, and you never know how the story will end. Message in a Bottle will make you laugh, but you will also shed a few tears. It is an amazing love story that doesn't have a happily ever after ending. I give this book five stars because it kept me turning the pages and never wanting to stop. The only thing that I think could have been done differently is the way he starts the book at the end and has the main character, Theresa is looking back on what had happened. This was very confusing for me because by the time I had gotten to the end I had forgotten how the story had began because the middle was so interesting. I definetly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Nicholas Sparks, or anyone who wouldn't mind shedding a few tears in a good love story.
Rating: Summary: Major Disappointment Review: My friends had told me how wonderful Nicholas Sparks' books were and I couldn't wait to read one. "Message in a Bottle" was the only one available at our library as there is a waiting list to get his books. This really had me excited, they must be awesome, I thought. Well,I became very disappointed in the book about the time Deanna showed up on the scene. The whole idea of publishing the letters was tacky and she was only trying to get a good story. Theresa seemed so caring and interested in this Garrett character, that is until she had him in the sack. Did anyone else notice a major change in her character after that? Her comments sounded so flippant during their phone coversations and she just didn't know if she really loved him. Garrett also turned out to be an insecure, possessive type of guy that wouldn't even consider leaving his hometown. These two weren't in love, they were in lust. They only thing they shared was good sex. This was very evident in their last meeting. Why did she go to bed with him when she knew she was going to break it off in the morning? I found the book very shallow and I forced myself to finish it. The outcome was very easy to figure out because of how the book started with her holding the bottles. The characters were not developed and too much time is spent on impertitnent details. If you want a genuine tear jerker, read something with more depth, like "Where the Red Fern Grows".
Rating: Summary: One feeling after another Review: This book had me on my toes more often than not. I was either fussing with the characters or crying my eyes out. This book brought out more emotion in me than most. You never know what to expect next. And you are never really sure what is going to happen. Even though it might always be happy the writing is just wonderful. As is all of Sparks' work. Definitely pick this one up.
