Summary: More Surprises from Sparks!
Review: I enjoyed reading Message in a Bottle. I am amazed how many surprises appeared in this story. I really enjoyed the beginning, but felt the middle part really drug out. The ending was a huge surprise which brought the whole story together in a creative matter. Nick Sparks certainly has a special talent for writing and showers many suprise sparks throughout his stories! I can't wait to read his third book!

Summary: Wow!! What a tearjerker!! A great romance novel!!
Review: Just finished reading the" Message In A Bottle" just 20 minutes ago. My eyes are swollen and I'm a total mess. I read Nicholas Sparks other novel" The Notebook" and I cried through that book too. What is it with Nicholas's books, that does this to me? I've never cried reading books, but after reading his second novel, I knew he struck a chord in me. The story was beautiful and heartwrenching. It made me reanalyze my life with my love one. And how much I treasure our life together. I just can't wait till Nicholas Sparks writes another novel. I'm waiting with my kleenex in hand. BRAVO!!!

Summary: Kept my attention till the very end.
Review: Great romance, Sparks was as good or better in Miracle in a Bottle as he was in The Notebook.

A bit of a tear jerker for me. The ending was to hard but Miracle in a Bottle is a must read.

Summary: Good love story-easy to get caught up in. Hard to put down.
Review: True to Nicholas Sparks ability to write a very romantic love story! After a hetic day at work, this book could literally take me away from the stress. Although a little slow towards the end, it still was an easy, quick read; very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to his next publication.

Summary: Big disappointment
Review: Wow was I disappointed, I really loved "The Notebook" it was charming and quite touching however I felt as if I were back in high school reading "True Romance" magazines. This was much to predictable and a bit to maudlin for my taste. Come on Mr. Sparks based on your first novel you can do better!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not a Romance!!!
Review: I read his first book and was deeply moved. I had great hopes for "Message in a Bottle". Boy was I wrong. Me personally, I love a good ending. This sure was not what I like.

Up until the last 3 chapters I would not have recommended this book to anyone. I will admit that the ending was a tear jerker but I like to read to feel better not sad. Has Mr. Sparks never heard of "Happily Ever After"?

I would and have recommended "The Notebook" to many friends but I don't think I wil l recommend "Message" unless you just want to have a good cry after reading for a few hours.

Summary: A good read if you're looking for a romance novel
Review: After reading The Notebook, I purposely waited to read this as I doubted the author could duplicate the intensity and quality. In all fairness, these books are not at all comparable--Notebook is believable, extremely well written, a real tear jerker. Anyone with aging parents or growing older themselves can probably imagine themselves in this situation. After reading it about all one can say is WOW! Message on the other hand is more in the romance novel category, reminded me of an L. Spencer book. It was entertaining and if you're looking for that type of book, read it, it beats most romance novels hands down. It's interesting how a male author portrays things differently--no typical Cinderella ending here and an underlying message too.

Summary: THE POWER OF PAIN VS. FEAR OF LOVE
Review: It took me one day to read this powerful book. Kevin Costner is "Garrett." Both Sparks and Costner are Capricorn Suns who have an intimate relationship with pain. They are the only signs I know that are comfortable with it...still as a Sun in Cancer, this book moved me to uncontrollable tears and invaded a part of me that I have kept pretty well hidden. The book is also about how pride often gets in the way of love which knows no logic, it simply loves and Nick wrote this at a time when we all live with a certain amount of fear and I'm sure love is in the Top 10 of Fear on all our lists...only a Capricorn can punch a hole in fear and deal with loss. It reminded me of a man who died in my arms in Key West in October, 1986. Thank you Nick, for helping me release all the pain that was attached to his death. You must have had your own share of losses, otherwise you could not have written this from your own heart. Carole Hemingway

Summary: Belongs in the shelf of cheap romance
Review: This book was a waste of time. Happy or sad ending, who cares?! The two main characters are cardboard cut-outs, the plot is predictable, the romance is sirupy garbage. Never again.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: The writing is sophomoric and the story is treacle.
Review: I cannot understand how a writer of such little talent can be on any bestseller list. He wrote as if he wished to rush through the story. The characters are wooden, devoid of life; characatures of lovers. The author conveys no sense of place in his description of the Carolina coast. The story is about two self absorbed people who cannot seem to get on with their lives, but the reader is apparently supposed to accept them as deep people with grand philosophies of love. I found the main characters to be two people I would not want to spend an evening with. This book should be banished to the Romantic sections of bookstores, and placed on the bottom racks. Perhaps then people would not waste their money on this treacle.
