Rating: Summary: If you enjoy romance novels this is a good book to read. Review: I enjoyed the book. If you're in the mood for a cry then this is the book to read. It was fast reading and entertaining but I found that the ending was rather abrupt. All in all it was a good book and it's a best selling so that has to say something for it.
Rating: Summary: unnerving yet an excellent read... Review: Well unfortunately Theresa messed up here. But interestingly enough, while the reader can at some point predict the ending, it is still impossible to put the book down. Hurry up Sparks and write another book!
Senza spiegazioni. Senza un motivo.
Rating: Summary: At last....a truly romantic love story....joy and tragedy Review: I enjoyed "The Notebook" so much I was eager to read this second novel. It amazes me that a male author can touch the soul with such writing. I would have liked it to end differently, and frankly was shocked at the ending. But after pondering this novel (and it is worth pondering) I think it was a fitting ending. Nicholas Sparks is a true romantic in my "book" and I am refreshed to find writing with such class and style. He doesn't write just for the shock value of sex and violence but has insight and depth to his soul. I'll take this kind of writing any time compared to Steel's "and then" "and then" descriptive paragraphing. No imagination there at all. It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.
Rating: Summary: For those who have ever imagined life without their spouse Review: After my sister recently became a young widow I had many questions in my mind. For example, how does one go on after losing the love of your life? I was feeling very hopeful until the end of this book. Though Mr. Sparks rightfully tells us that indeed we must go on and go forward, my heart broke and ached for days. I had to constantly remind myself that this was a work of fiction. A very romantic read this book is, but a definite tear jerker. Make sure you are alone for the last 20 pages and do have a box of tissues on hand! Please Nicholas Sparks, give me a completely happy ending the next time. My heart won't be able to suffer this much again for a long time.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: I have to re read the last chapter - I cried and cried. That was last night, and right now I'm still crying! What a great story! I am looking forward to the next one!
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC, THIS IS A MUST READ Review: Nicholas Sparks is a brilliant story teller. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. It was if I was one of the characters.I felt like I knew these people. I have never read a book that made me feel this way., immediately you were brought right in and the story kept going and going. This book will stay with you for a long time. (Make sure you have kleenex close by)
Rating: Summary: If you don't want to cry don't read this book. Review: Sparks' ability to write so down-to-earth is amazing. And to do it while writing a romantic love story; unbelieveable. Theresa and Garrett are ultimate lovers for the 90's. They bring romance back to a century where everyone has no time for love, sensuality, and actual lovemaking. I cried because my heart has never felt love like Theresa and Garrett had experienced. But most of all I felt like I was reading about my own relationship with my boyfriend. Thank you again Mr.Sparks for another soul wrenching love story.
Rating: Summary: Touching, Poignant....In a word - Brilliant. Review: Message In A Bottle is simply a magnificently written novel - one that will pull you into its embrace within the first few pages, and hold you close until you tearfully turn the final page. Mr. Sparks shows, once again, that he is a master at penning the peaks and depths of human emotion. Eloquent to the end, I heartily recommend it for anyone and everyone that has a heart, or wants to remember that they have one. After closing the book, you find yourself with a strong desire to put pen to paper and compose something heartfelt, something tragically beautiful, roll it tightly, and stuff it into a bottle, to be tossed into the depths of the nearest body of water. The tragic turn in the midst of the story is indeed very sorrowful, but equally potent is the love shared between the two main characters. My autographed copy of Message In A Bottle is one of my most treasured possessions. Buy it, borrow it, beg it - but whatever you do....read it.
Rating: Summary: Too Sappy Review: The "not so happily ever after" ending could not keep this novel from being too sappy, too predictable, & too long. This whole story could have been told in about 30 pages. I never even remotely felt a connection with the the settings and I've been to Wilmington many times. The Notebook by this author is a better choice.
