Rating: Summary: A good beginning and ending/ slow middle Review: I loved the romantic idea of finding love letters in a bottle. The characters were all easily imagined and the settings needed no imagination. I could almost smell the ocean and feel the night time breezes. Yet,during the middle of the book, the characters kept bouncing back and forth from each others homes and it seemed repetitive. Some of the conversation seemed rehersed. But, at the end, I was in tears and it made me appreciate that I was one of the lucky ones who found true love the first time and managed to keep it.
Rating: Summary: Very romantic Review: I couldn't put the book down. It was very romantic. In fact it was so much so, that the ending was disappointing.
Rating: Summary: I picked up this book and couldn't put it down! I Loved it! Review: I read "Message In A Bottle" and I loved it. It was weel written. I love to get a good book like this that I never want to end. This was one of those books. When I finished it I read "The Notebook". Now I am eagerly awaiting a new book by Mr. Sparks. Do you know when one will be published? Love his work! I am also looking forward to the movie coming out in February Thank you! Barbara G. Mason
Rating: Summary: Grabs your heart and won't let go Review: Not since Bridges of Madison County have I been so moved by a book. You smile, cry and never want the story to end. An easy read, but so emotionally gripping that you have to share your feelings and thoughts with someone after you read it. The ending is appropriate and beautiful in its own way. Won't be lending out my copy - I'll read it again and again.
Rating: Summary: I can't believe this book made it to print Review: I don't know how anyone can put this book and the "Bridges of Madison County" in the same class. Gag me.Once again, we have to suffer with a heroine who is too gorgeous to be real (don't forget the great hair and flat stomach), who is romantically mentored by an older woman (always overweight and asexual). In comes the mystery man (who is also drop-dead gorgeous), who is haunted by his last love. Haven't we read a book like this before? Fortunately, Mr Sparks writes enough about the beautiful NC coastline to spark any interest in this syrup-laden, predictable book.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed until the end. Review: I loved the Notebook and had anticipated Message in a Bottle for a year. I was disappointed in the emotional content, it never really grabbed me until the end. It was a very sad ending and I was surprised but it was the best part of the book.
Rating: Summary: This book changed my life Review: This story not only helped me realize so many of the wonderful things about how love can be, but it got me reading. I'm a college student, and besides the obvious boring books I have to read, message in a bottle was a book I could not put down. This is somthing that has never happened to me before. I have always hated reading until now. I can't wait until Nicholas Sparks releases his third book!!! Thanks Nicholas!!!
Rating: Summary: Definately something you won't forget!! Review: This is probably one of the most exceptional books I have read in years!!!! I have never felt so close to the characters, as if I were there to experience the pain and passion. It is a must read!!! You won't be able to put it down!
Rating: Summary: A Romantic, sensitive story Review: Loved it...again like the notebook a simple story about simple ordinary people...the best kind of love story
Rating: Summary: See the movie Review: I kept thinking that this book would make a good screenplay. It did not make a good book. Nicholas Sparks has some good, though simple, ideas for a plot. Problem is: he can't write. This book is better suited in the junvenile section of a library where an author's ability to use detail to enhance a story does not matter. His publisher has done a great job selling Sparks. Perhaps they can find him a better editor to improve his writing.
