Rating: Summary: I truley enjoyed it BUT? Review: Overall this was a fine read, however I felt it could have been a few chapters shorter due to the fact that the middle parts got boring very quickly. I wished that Jeb's character could have been expanded, and maybe introduced early on. I liked the bazarness of how they met, I know people who have met in more wild and co-dependent fashions. Overall Read It.
Rating: Summary: To sum it up in one word: wow. Review: I'm not a true believer in the miracles of love and romance, and had originally bought this novel to compare it with its big-screen counterpart opening this weekend. And then I picked up the book. I cried. I smiled. I displayed the typical emotions of an overly sensitive "chick". But I didn't care. I can only hope my life's path will lead me to a love as great as those depicted in Sparks' novel.
Rating: Summary: Once I started reading I never put it down. Review: I didn't think he could top "The Notebook" but once again Nicholas Sparks captured my emotions with "Message in a Bottle". I pictured and felt every movement and emotion of the characters. Truly a great novel if you are a hopeless romantic. It makes you remember what you can experience if you just open your heart to someone.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous book and recommended to everyone! Review: This is a fabulous book that I would recommend to everyone. The author has a thorough grasp on both female and male thoughts, emotions, and reactions to romance. This enchanting novel is a page turner and a candidate for a kleenex box. Happy reading!
Rating: Summary: It gives you hope that you can love twice in a lifetime Review: I enjoyed "Message in A Bottle" even though the premise was far fetched. I couldn't put in down once I started I wanted to see if Theresa could in fact fine true love for once in her life. Garrett sounds like a good catch, every women's dream, except that he can't let go of the past. When he does it's too late which is the heartbreak of this book. I'm eager to see if Hollywood will give us a sad ending with the film.
Rating: Summary: Awful. Ridiculous story line. Very poorly written. Review: 1 star is actually generous, but it was the lowest choice I had. I haven't seen the movie, but I found the plot of the book to be very contrived. It strains credulity. Worse, the writing is so baaaaad--trite, unnatural conversations; repetitious phrases throughout; cardboard characters that evoke no sympathy. Except for the sex scenes (which are also wooden and uninspiring), this book appears to have been written for 10-year-olds. Sorry, but that's my opinion.
Rating: Summary: Awful Review: As with another reviewer, I am reviewing after 301 reviews. This was awful! I almost couldn't finish it. I don't know about the movie, maybe when it hits video. At first I thought I was really going to love this book, but about 4 or 5 chapters in, I realized that I didn't like Theresa and Garrett and their relationship wasn't realistic. I understand about loving your spouse so much that life is never the same, but it had been 3 years. THREE YEARS!! Get on with life!
Rating: Summary: A Tear Jerking Tradegy Review: Although I thought the book was written so that Junior high kids could follow along, the book is excellent. I sat up and read it in one night... laying there crying in my bed. It was book that will leave you sad, happy, and furious about how it ended. What if...is what you will say over and over...
Rating: Summary: Sparks delivers us with another Winner! Review: Nicholas Sparks is on a roll. First The Notebook, and now Message in a Bottle. From the beginning of the story, when Theresa, a divorced mother, finds a love letter written by a mysterious G. Blake, to the rising finale, Sparks keeps his readers on their toes as he presents us with perhaps one of the greatest love stories of our generation. For all of those hopeless romantics out there, Sparks does a wonderful job in defining "true love." I'm just waiting for him to amaze me oncemore with his next novel. Kudos to Nicholas Sparks!
Rating: Summary: Nicholas Sparks get another thumps up Review: I highly enjoyed both The Notebook and Message in a Bottle. I cried my eyes out while reading both of these books. Sparks makes you believe that true love lasts forever. I can't wait for his next novel.
