Summary: good for some, very bad for others
Review: For those who liked it, it appeared this book served the purpose of helping them unleash their own wildest dreams and hopes they must have wished for themselves but had no other way to make into reality. For those who hated it, this book really was a technical inferior to many of the other "bestsellers" that have been out there. We really can't get to know the characters here, and if you ended up "loving" them, you were really loving something else you created in your mind -- Sparks did not provide it for you. In fact, he didn't provide much of anything except a running description of a movie, and not necessarily a very engaging one at that. This book demands a lot of the reader's own personal perceptions of love and lost to be involved with the plot...it does not take us on a journey that we could not have otherwise daydreamed for ourselves on a boring afternoon in front of our monitors. Too bad he can't take some of this feedback and create something better from it.

Summary: A guy sends a message in a bottle and a girl finds it.
Review: This is the most fabulous book I have ever read. While reading the novel, I hoped that I could have the same relationship as these two characters. This novel was incredibly romantic. I cannot wait to read his next novel.

Summary: The Best Book I ever read
Review: If you are just buying this book, expect not to put it down till you get to the last page. You will need to have within reach a box of "Puffs". It was wonderful. When you finish, share it with others. Everyone I have passed this book to says the same as I feel. The movie isn't 1/4 as good as the book. I wish I had not seen the movie. I had not been to a movie in ten years, but I just had to see Message in a Bottle after completing the book but wish I had not seem movie now.

Summary: "An intense romance-turned tragic love story"
Review: I needed to read a book for my English project. I usually hate to read any books, but my mom said to read Message in a Bottle and I would not be able to put it down. I thought ok, well i ain't like you, it is gonna take me long to read because it will be so boring. Well I started reading it and I honestly could not put it down. It took me less than two days to read that book and i stayed up until 4:00 am all night reading it because I knew i would not sleep if i didnt finish it because it was so addicting and so emotional. I cried my eyes out near the end and I would not stop crying for 2 hours straight, no other book ever had that effect on me. It's a great book and definitely worth your time to read!

Summary: A simple yet sophisticated stop-over!
Review: This book truly engages you in a sweet, romantic tale not too far from a possibility for some of us. Sparks has a way of keeping you turning the pages until the very last one! This book put me in mind of The Bridges of Madisson County which, I might add, was also an excellent read. I look forward to reading The Notebook!

Summary: What a great book!
Review: I thought this book was really great! I was sorry that Garrett was so slow in getting over his past, because I really did want Theresa and him to get married. However, upon discovery of "her" bottle from him, and realizing that he truly was over Catherine, and ready to live the rest of his life with her, at least she was comforted that he hadn't taken his own life. Also, as the book says, his last "message in a bottle", helped her to go on with her own life!
