Rating: Summary: Get out the tissues Review: This has to be one of the best books that I ever read. I would highly recommend this to anyone!
Rating: Summary: I could not stop crying! Review: When I read the last chapter, I could not stop crying at lunchtime in my office. The letters that I read in this book were very romantic. I was really impressed by them. This book is one of the best love stories I have ever read. I want to read `The Notebook', too.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put this book down... Review: I started reading Message in a Bottle this past weekend. I had intended for it to be a several day read. But once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I finished the book in one day. The story was so moving and heart warming. Nicholas Sparks takes the reader to places in their hearts they may never have ventured reading a book before. I can't wait to read more of his work.
Rating: Summary: Emotional tear-jerker! Review: Incredible story of love and love lost. Emotions and tears will flow in abundance. Nicholas Sparks has an incredible way with words!
Rating: Summary: Beautifully written Review: 'Message in a Bottle' is in the same league as 'The Bridges of Madison County'.Effusively sentimental and highly romantic, this book makes you want to love, lose and fall in love again.A truly magnificent job by Nicholas Sparks.
Rating: Summary: heart wretching and a reafirmance of faith in romance Review: This above all other love stories I have read, makes your soul yearn to find the soul mate that everyone has, It reafirms the faith in love and romance that this cynical society has long since lost. Bravo and keep writing , i loved this and the film, it made my soul cry.
Rating: Summary: A good story Review: Sometimes you just need to read a book that is not heavy into plot or character development. Sometimes you just want to read a book for the sake of a good story. Message in a Bottle was that book for me. Yes, I cried (and so did a lot of readers) but a good cry is good, it cleanses the soul. It makes you think how you would handle the situation and how you would handle your current relationship. Wouldn't the majority of women love to have had Garrett love us like he did Catherine? And how many of us would have the guts to do what Theresa did?
Rating: Summary: It is not impossible to capture true love on paper. Review: Message In A Bottle I always thought that it was virtually impossible to capture true love on paper, but in the novel Message In A Bottle, by Nicholas Sparks proved me wrong. Theresa Osborne lives in a great apartment in Boston, has a wonderful job at the Boston Times, and a close relationship with her teenage son, Kevin. Although her life seems picture perfect, she has felt an emptiness in her life ever since she divorced from her husband. She is longing for love, yet afraid to go after it. This novel is the perfect example of taking risks, following your heart, and enjoying the reward that follows. While taking a relaxing vacation from her busy, confusing life at her friend Deanna's beach house in Cape Cod, Theresa tells Deanna that her ideal man would have to be, "handsome, kind, intelligent, and charming.... he would have to spend time with Kevin as if he were his own son..... and he'd have to be romantic too." Little does she know that while running on the beach one morning she would stumble over a bottle with a message that would give her just that. It was a letter wrapped up in the bottle; a love letter that would change her life. She was so touched by the letter that she decided to print it in her column in the paper. This lead to the discovery of another letter that had been washed up on the beach in Norfolk, Virginia and found by a women who had kept and treasured it for three long years. Theresa then continued to search. Printed on the internet, she found yet another letter with a similar backround. When she finally got hold of it, she compared the letters and to her amazement all three were love letters written to Catherine, from Garrett. It seemed that Catherine had somehow disappeared or gone away. We later learn that Catherine had been hit by a car and killed three years before. Garrett missed her terribly and expressed his undying love for her in the touching words of the letters. Theresa thought about this man Garrett day and night. She had never met him or seen him; she didn't know what he looked like or how old he was. But one thing was for sure; he was out there, somewhere. Deanna convinced her to follow her heart and to find him. Theresa even said that one of the many things she had learned was that if you discover something that makes you tighten inside, you had better learn more about it. And so she did. With Deanna's help they discover that Garrett lived around Wilmington, North Carolina, owned a diving store called Diving Island, and a boat named Happenstance. With that information and hotel reservations, Theresa Osborne was off in search of the man of her dreams. And she found him. Garrett Blake was his name and after a ride on the Happenstance and a wonderful evening together, Theresa realized that this mystery man was everything she had been longing for and a hundred times more. The rest was history. I was truly touched by this novel. It was a beautifully written, romantic love story and I honestly couldn't put the book down. Nicholas Sparks captured excitement, beauty, and love in one amazing story. By:Kerri Zimmer ' ' ~ üø dà d x Å 2 ~ -°Ð/ °à=!° "° # $ %°
Rating: Summary: touching Review: I thought this book by Nicholas Sparks was beautiful. I love the characters and the way he revealed them to the readers. The thought that went into the details that kept me from putting this book down were like no others.
Rating: Summary: I cried, cried, cried Review: I LOVED this book. I checked it out at the library and when I finished it, I went out and bought it, just so I could lend it out! It had a slow beginning but after that I couldn't put it down. When I finished it I cried like a baby. The whole way through the book I was thinking Garrett should just get over it and go on with his life. But it wasn't until the that I felt sympathy for the poor fellow because now I knew how he felt. How could Teresa go on? It's just so sad.
