Summary: Message In A Bottle
Review: Nicholas Sparks has written another great book, "Message In A Bottle". A woman by the name of Theresa Osborn takes a summer vacation in Cape Cod. One morning while jogging along the beach she comes across a bottle with a scrolled up message inside that takes her breath away. Theresa goes through extensive research to find the mysterious yet sensitive writter. She finds the man on an old fishing port in North Carolina and from there the romance begins. Theresa has a hard time coping with the relationship since her ex-husband moved out when she was pregnant with her son. Garrett, the secret writer, has a love too, his wife Catherine to whom he writes the letters. Theresa finds out about Catherine and it brings Garrett to terms with who he really is. I saw the movie after reading the book and found the book to be much better, so READ it!!

Summary: A book that fell apart at the end.
Review: I was eager to read this novel, because I dearly love his first work, The Notebook. As I began Message In A Bottle, I immediately became engrossed by the story of Theresa and Garrett. While the concept might be a bit far-fetched, the circumstance made it seem believable. Mr. Sparks did an excellent job developing these characters, just as he had done with The Notebook. Unfortunately, it seems to me that about two/thirds of the way through the story--he got distracted and lost focus. He no longer seemed to know how his characters would behave in a particular scenario and the book fell apart. The ending was weak at best, which left me disappointed and confused. This author has great talent and I hope that his future works will be more completely developed to provide a satisfying conclusion. I want to add that I am not just saying this because the ending was sad; I'm not. The Notebook also had a sad ending and it was beautiful. Overall, it fell short of expectations.

Summary: It was just - SIGH! =)
Review: This book was without a doubt one of Nicholas Sparks' best books. It is a book about a deep love, one that seemes so out of reach while being completely possible at the same time. Garrett is my favorite character out of all of Sparks' books because he has such real feelings about his wife and you can just feel how hard it has been for him to move on. It is an amazing book that you just have to read. One note: the movie version of this starring Kevin Costner and Robin Wright-Penn was not very good. When you finish reading the book, however, you have to watch the movie for the simple fact that Kevin Costner IS Garrett. He plays the most perfect version of Garrett that it is actually worth the $4.00 rental fee.

Summary: My Review 4 Message in a Bottle
Review: Message in a Bottle is the only book that I've read in my life that had touched me at such an emotional level to become all teary-eyed after I finished reading the book. Nicholas Sparks is an excellent writer, and like most of his books, he uses words so well instantly catching his reader's attention in the introductory paragraph. Sparks know how to touch hearts and intrigue his readers to his books, to an extent of not wanting to put the book(s) back down. Message in a Bottle is a remarkable story of Theresa, a lonely single mother, who is trying to overcome a painful divorce and Garret, a devastated man whose wife died in a car accident a few years ago and is reluctantly trying to get over the fact that she's gone. To relieve him of his pain, Garret would write romantic letters to his deceased wife, Catherine, and put the message in a bottle then throw it out to sea in hope of her reaching them somehow. One summer holiday, as Theresa was jogging along the bay, she comes across one of Garret's bottles with the scrolled up message inside. She opens the cork and unfolds the letter. From here, starts Theresa's quest of finding the mysterious Garret who wrote these hearts tugging love letters. And eventually when she does, the two heart-broken love birds come together and fall romantically in love overcoming most obstacles along the way.

The book Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks was so much better then the movie. Even though the movie was based on the book, it lacked so much of the content that the book had. I would definitely recommend this book to people who like to read love stories. And trust me, this one unlike many others love stories is not sappy. =]

Summary: Beautifully written
Review: This book was truly amazing. I never, ever cry during a movie or a book, not even when I saw Titanic. Not a tear did I shed. But for the last chapters of this book, I was in tears. I needed a box of tissues, it was so bad, and I'm not exxagerating. Nicholas Sparks knows how to get his readers feeling. It was a very emotional book. I was a little nervous when she went to look for him at the shop and then at the dock, but I think Theresa handled it very well. I saw the movie, and while it was very good, and the score was fantastic (in my opinion)it just didn't compare with the book. It had an amazing twist to it. When you think of unpredictable,if you've read this book, then the ending of the book will definitlety come to mind. It was an incredible, wonderfully written novel, and I loved every page, every minute, no matter how sorrowful it was, it ended beautifully with Thersa. She knew how to live, how to truly live, and though it was painful for her, she survived. It is a wonderful example of human strenght and the power of loss and love. I found it an excellent way to spend my extra hours, and I hope you do too.

Summary: Theresa's Love Adventure
Review: I enjoyed the book "Message in a Bottle" by Nicholas Sparks. In the story the main character Theresa is running along the beach and finds a message in a bottle. Theresa is a single parent looking for love. After she finds the letter she falls in love with the writer, whose name is Garrett. When Theresa tells her best friend Deanna, she leads Theresa on a very exciting adventure with lots of bumps along the way. Theresa is not able to tell Garrett the real reason she goes to meet him! Theresa has to lie for a long time, and when she tells Garrett the truth he gets mad. I thought the book was very good. It was way differant from Sparks other books. I would recommend this book. It is easy reading and very romantic.

Summary: A Great Love Story
Review: Keep the Kleenex handy when you read this book.

Theresa Orsburn, a divorced single mother and newspaper columnist, discovers a letter in a bottle on the beach while vacationing in Cape Cod. Theresa shows it to her editor/friend. The incredible love that is evident in the letter moves them so much that they decide to print it in Theresa's column. Through that, she discovers two other letters from Garrett to Catherine.

Jaded from her divorce, Theresa is very curious about a man who could feel such deep love and write such letters, so she sets out to discover more about him.

She finds Garrett, who is a dive instructor in North Carolina, and meets him in person. They make in instant connection and fall in love. The story of their time together made me wish I could find something like that at least once in my life. I wish the ending had been different, but it makes a point that is important to both Garrett and Theresa.

I'll read more Nicholas Sparks books in the future.

Summary: struggling writer from Idaho
Review: This was a terrible book. The dialogue was cliched, the characters uninteresting and trite. It was so obvious Sparks was trying to appeal to a mostly female audience. The only good thing was the plot premise, but then it turned into predictable mush, even worse than a Mary Higgins Clark novel. The only thing that kept me reading is I wanted to see if it sucked all the way to the end, and it surely did. It is depressing that so many folks here thought this was such a great book -- either they don't read very often or I've overestimated the intelligence of the average reader. How this ever got published, or even made it past the first cut is amazing. Total fluff.

This is what it takes to be successful today in America? It's the equivalent of some so-called rap artist becoming a millioniare that can't even sing or play an instrument. Sad.
