Summary: Share this book with your circle of friends!
Review: Patricia Gaffney's gem of a novel reaffirms the special friendships that only women can share. The four main characters are diverse in personalities but united in the bond that they share. You will cheer on each woman as she faces her own life crisis while being supported by her "saving graces". The yarn is told in the first person as the four friends unwind their stories as the narration is alternated by them. Patricia lovingly molds her characters as real women who truly care for and nurture one another. You will be moved by their stories and inspired by their sisterly devotion. Relax with a cup of tea and steep yourself in this rich story!

Summary: Wonderful! We should all have such wonderful friendships!
Review: What a wonderful book of the friendship between 4 different women, each facing their own battles of love, marriage and family. The ending was especially wonderful and I, too, felt like I'd lost my best friends when the book ended. The only criticism I have is that it was difficult to follow the characters when the chapters kept switching from one view to the next. I kept going back to the inside cover of the book to refresh my memory as to who each woman was. But overall, highly recommended!

Summary: I liked the story...
Review:

I am a "Ya Ya Sisterhood" fan, so I found this book about more reserved women interesting. True, the four aren't as flamboyant as the Ya Ya's, but they also don't leave as much damage in their wake.

I'm blessed to have wonderful, life long friends and I've been through much of what Rudy, Lee, Emma and Isabel deal with during the course of this story.

I recommend this book. Emjoy!

Summary: A wonderful book about females and friendship.
Review: I found this book to be absolutely wonderful. I think that every woman can identify with one of the characters in one way or another. The book goes through the ups and downs of life and how everything can be better when experienced with friends. This book gave me hope for the future and the longevity of my friendships. I recommend this book to all...

Summary: Give your friends a big hug!
Review: I also found this book difficult to follow at first. I kept a little "log" of who's who - it really aided me in following the characters and changes in narration.

If you have a circle of friends, you should enjoy this realistic and authentic story of four women. I found myself thinking of my own friends and which character they reminded me of. The power of female friendships is revealed in this novel!

Summary: A VERY GOOD BOOK
Review: I really liked this book. It made ne think a lot about the character as if I had always known them personally. I have loaned it to many of my friends, and will keep telling others about it! If you want to read another book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A gift to be cherished forever.

Summary: A Great Book About Women
Review: The Saving Graces is a warm heartfelt book. By the end of the book you feel as if you personally know all the characters. A little hard to fallow at the beginning. Each chapter is suposed to be told by a different character, but the writting is always the same so it took a while to figure out who was who.

Summary: Now THIS is What Friends Are For!
Review: This book was the book of the month selection from the CORBEL book club. Most of us agreed that this was possibly the best book we have ever read. WARNING - keep a box of tissues handy! There are 8 members in our book club and we could all see ourselves as the characters. It really made us feel as though we were a part of the book. Mostly I think it made us very thankful that we have friends (such as those in our book club). Female friendships are very special. It always amazes me that women can be so different yet care so much about each other. If you don't have friends such as those in the book I think this story will make you crave such an experience that you will soon find yourself attempting to develop special friendships of your own.
