Review: The best description I can give Nights In Rodanthe is 'Good'.
I've read far better than this. I must say that as a faithful Nicholas Sparks reader I wasn't as impressed with this book as I was with, 'The Notebook', or 'A Walk to Remember'. Those two books were my absolute favorites by Sparks in terms of love and inspiration, but this one really wasn't all that grand!
If you like his writing style read 'The Notebook', and 'A Walk to Remember'.

Review: I loved the setting, the characters, the suspense. Nicholas Sparks never disappoints with his love stories! I just found some really interesting interviews on two author sites (my favorites!) at nicholassparks.com and kirkmartinbooks.com. I wish I had known about these earlier! Can't wait for The Wedding!

Review: I was hankering for another good summer read and chose Nights in Rodanthe. It is the second and last book by Nicholas Sparks that I will read. It felt simplistic, shallow, and disappointing. I did love the idea of setting and wished it could have been developed more.

Review: I don't think he can write a bad book. This did not disappoint. I have read everything thus far and he remains one of my favorite authors. As the story begins, Adrienne Willis is 60, the divorced mother of three grown children. To help her troubled daughter cope with the untimely recent death of her husband, Adrienne tells her daughter an intimate story of her own love affair, which took place 15 years before. At the time, Adrienne was an uptight matron whose ex-husband had just left her for a younger woman. This rejection colors her entire life, and Sparks realistically portrays a vulnerable and isolated woman who throws herself into raising her children to escape her despair. She agrees to Inn-sit a weekend for a good friend who owns a bed and breakfast in Rodanthe, North Carolina, a small coastal town, where she can seek a bit of respite from her problems while she minds the Inn. The only guest scheduled to arrive this wintery weekend is Paul Flanner, a doctor who has sold his thriving medical practice and come to Rodanthe to escape his own tortured past. Now, with a storm closing in, two wounded people will turn to each other for comfort and in one weekend, set in motion feelings that will resonate throughout the rest of their lives. Despite their short courtship, the two find themselves falling passionately in love and vow to spend their lives together. Unfortunately, Paul needs to make amends with the son he has long neglected and so embarks on an ill-fated trip, which leads to heartbreak and untimely events that alter Adrienne's life permanently. A very moving tale of love and tragedy, in the all encompassing Sparks style. I highly recommend this book, it will keep you turning those pages as fast as you can.

Review: Each time I read Nicholas Sparks, a part of me is truly and forever amazed that a man can write with such depth, as though seeing into a woman's hidden places and tracing their outlines onto pages. No exceptions here. Adrienne Willis is divorced - a rather tragic figure -, yet her strength is in her very own tragedy, if only she could see that. Asked by a friend to house-sit an inn on the coast of North Carolina, Adrienne, Adrienne agrees. She is alone, her teenage children visiting with their father, and their will be only one guest. She is certain she will manage, even with a fierce coastal storm predicted. Paul Flanner has come to Rodanthe, North Carolina for different reasons. He is a skilled surgeon, specializing in reconstructive surgery. When one of his patients dies unexpectedly, and his wife leaves him - he realizes he has spent 25 years of his life being all of the things he should not have been. A letter from the dead patient's husband calls him to Rodanthe - and despite his attorney's advice - Paul goes. Adrienne and Paul are so different, so NOT for each other, yet each has a lesson to learn, and each as a lesson to teach. Paul must go to Ecuador, to see his son he never bothered to be a father to. Adrienne must reveal a secret long kept, to save her grieving newly-widowed daughter from falling forever into the black abyss of those who have no hope. The intricate weaving of this story is a story all by itself. But only Nicholas Sparks could have put this one together.

Summary: Keeps Readers on the Edges of Their Seats
Review: Nights in Rodanthe was a sweet, interesting love story. It was well written and kept me glued to the pages the whole time. It is one of my favorite books now. Usually, Nicholas Spark's books are pretty easy to read and not very interesting, but this was probably his best book yet!

Review: I have been a BIG fan of Nicholas Sparks ever since I read the Notebook. I anxiously await all of his releases. He really disappointed me on this one. I found the story line to be lacking. I kept waiting for the story to "get better", it never did.

Review: Nicholas Sparks usually writes beautiful love stories. He blew it with this book. The plot is an inplausible knock-off of Bridges of Madison County. Change the names and occupations and you've got it covered. One weekend of romance transforms into the love of a lifetime that sustains her for the rest of her life? Yeah, right.

Summary: Good but Predictable
Review: This was my second Nicholas Sparks novel and I must say that, unlke the first (The Guardian), it was somewhat predictable. To some extent, it was a little slow to read but it is worth reading. I'm a fan of B&Bs but I'm not sure that I've been to one such as this. There are a lot of personal touches that one doesn't find at a hotel; however, I've never had an experience such as the one Paul & Adrienne had. I suppose that's why we read--to experience things that we have not yet experienced! Enjoy!
