Summary: Same Old Same Old
Review: One star at best. Predictable, same old story line. I felt like I was reading a bad rewrite of the Bridges of Madison County. I always read every book that I buy, but I almost broke my rule this time. What a struggle to finish the book! This is my first Nicholas Sparks novel, and my last.

Summary: Thumbs up!
Review: As is the case with all Sparks novels, this love story comes packaged in a small hardcover binding with very few chapters. It's an unbelievably quick read about two middle aged divorcees finding true love when neither was looking or thought it was possible. Sparks writes very beautiful, lyrical prose, filled with descriptions of all around: the landscape, the houses, the people, the heart. I recommend you read this latest title! Also recommended: THE LOSERS CLUB by Richard Perez

Summary: Sparks is Amazing
Review: I love Nicholas Sparks books. He's the only author I've ever read that I can't put down his books. I've read them all so far and this one did not dissapoint. He writes with such passion and describes love ina way that makes me cry every time. I can't wait to read his next book.

Summary: Not Sparks' Best Work
Review: I am a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks. So when I picked up this book, I expected a truly touching love story that required an entire box of kleenex.

Unfortunately, I did not need any kleenex. I found this book to be very predictable and not the least bit emotional. If you are really bored and want to be entertained for a few hours, then pick this book up. But if you are looking for a true tearjerker, I encourage you to pick up A Bend in the Road, The Rescue, or The Notebook (all by Nicholas Sparks). These are some of my favorite books, and I gaurantee, after you read them, you will never forget them.

Summary: An easy sentimental read!
Review: Some of the reviews might say the book lacks "spark", but I found the book to be sentimental. Anyone out there who has been touched by the death of a loved one, can relate. Nights in Rondanthe, engulfs a world of strength, magnified and tied together by a mom and her daughter. This is a great book if you are sentimental at all. I think it could have been a bit longer. I personally have loved all of the Sparks novels, and will continue to read and look forward to the new ones. I'm sending this one to my mom.

Summary: Great As Always
Review: Though many have given less than perfect reviews, I personally loved the book. I have read every book Nicholas Sparks has written and have never been disappointed. Its is good to know he can write with such a vast difference in characters from book to book. I think this is a must read.

Summary: Nights in Rodanthe
Review: Adrienne Willis takes care of a friend's inn in Rodanthe, North Carolina just after her touch with heartache. Her husband has just left her for a younger woman and she leaves for a short time to recollect herself and do her friend Jean, who is gone to attend a wedding, a favor. Once at the inn she breaks down and then meets Dr. Paul Flanner, who is the only guest this time of year at the inn, and the two become instantly attracted to each other. This story has much more going on it but this is just the beginning. This is Adrienne's story to her daughter Amanda, who she is trying to help after the recent loss of husband, and in the aftermath tells the story of her and Paul's days in Rodanthe and it all comes back- her youth, endless love, and the feeling that is captured in the air when love is felt within the heart. Breath takingly beautiful story that is a must read for all romantics! This story gave me the chills and then mad me cry for all the bitter sweet moments where love was there then gone. A tender story of love and the way fate plays a huge part in the entire scheme of life and our own expectations.

Summary: Englishteachercritic
Review: I wanted to give this book a big raspberry, but I had to choose at least a star. Predictable, sappy drivel. Like Bridges of Madison County, only worse. It was an impulse purchase, and I felt I had to read it only because I paid hard-earned money for it (I mean I literally forced myself to finish it). I didn't approach it as an English teacher would, just as someone who wanted to be entertained. I wasn't. Here's the weak plot: Mom gets dumped by husband. Meets another man one weekend. Whew. She's in love; he's in love. He goes off to reclaim a relationship with his estranged son. Very noble. Supposed to come back for her. Guess what happens to him? (Yeah, you guessed it. Sad. Very sad.) Then, Mom feels the need to tell daughter about this love she lost, because, boo-hoo, her daugher just lost her husband to cancer. "Look, we're just alike now. I can empathize." Personally, I don't want to know about my mother's affairs. And I didn't want to know about this woman's either. I wanted to have sympathy, instead, for the daughter who lost a HUSBAND that she had children with, not for mom and her weekend fling and her sad old letters and empty seashell memories. Get a life. Please.

Summary: Same old story...
Review: Wasn't this story originally called "Bridges of Madison County"?... (The material was not very original, in my opinion).

Summary: C'mon Folks, Dig a little deeper
Review: I really, really enjoyed this book. I think some of you skeptics out there, who tore the book to shreds didn't get the picture. It wasn't necessarily about a true love that lasted a lifetime. It was about the fact that people that we meet and encounter can play important parts in our lives, and can impact our lives forever. Whether it be circumstance, vulnerability, or whatever. These characters connected, and their connections inspired them to move forward in life with courage and hope!!

If some of you folks have ever met someone who you had such a strong connection with that inspired you, you are mising out on a beautiful part of life!! Sparks may write about "love" on the surface, but there is so much more to it that that!!
