Summary: heart warming!
Review: aww another great book by sparks.... the love and romance are so real. all of sparks books have the everyday people, people we have met, hope to meet, or people we are in love with at this very moment. the story is almost like one most of us have probably had or dream of having.. i love this book and put it right under a bend in the road. i had to procrastinate reading this book due to the reality that it would take him another six to twelve months to write another best selling book. hurry and write another

Summary: Pretty Prose
Review: Sparks' writing is smooth and elegant. He really doesn't waste any words or time in getting his points across. But, as a frequent Outer Banks visitor and a very recent visitor to Rodanthe, I would have loved to have seen more description of the area. He gives you a hint but doesn't really spell it out (or completely capture it). As other reviewers have written, the actual love story/relationships are highly predictable, and others have done it better. I'd rather be re-reading the Bridges of Madison County.

Summary: Short and Sweet
Review: Nights in Rodanthe lacks the punch and power of some of Sparks earlier novels. It's a short novel, but it would probably have worked better as short story or novella. There are some powerful, well-written scenes throughout, but they get lost a little in the telling. The end is especially powerful.

Overall a thumbs up for this story of love and loss by Sparks.

Summary: Very Disappointing
Review: If you have read Message in a Bottle, then save your money as this reads almost like it. I have both Message in book & video & LOVED it & as I read this, I kept finding overlapping story lines. Man is alone, woman falls into picture, they're alone, love hits, fall into bed, one of them doesn't make it to the end of the book (will let you find out who on your own) & the one left behind is left with memories. Oh, Message in a Bottle just kept replaying over & over in my mind as I read it. C'mon, Sparks, I expected more from you than this. I know most love stories are along the same lines but change "something". All you need to do is skip to the last few pages & you know the outcome. Basically, a start of a story & an end...nothing in between.

Summary: A Night of Disappointment!
Review: By page 7 we know the ending. The romantic scenes are cliches without depth. Nicholas never established a real connection between Paul and Adrienne. So they had a couple nights together at an inn, but that doesn't translate into a life changing relationship. I am a romantic, but I couldn't buy it. I am afraid that Nicholas has grown accustomed to pulling our heartstrings with the right words and scenes, but he has lost his originality.

Summary: Another Meaningful Story from Nicholas
Review: I respect Nicholas Sparks because he writes wholesome, meaningful stories. Sure they may be predictable at times, but they are moving and heartfelt. I also have found novels by Mary Alice Monroe (The Beach House), Richard Paul Evans and Kirk Martin (Shade of the Maple, The Gravel Drive) to be meaningful and moving as well.

Summary: DISSAPOINTING
Review: This novel is a blatent rip-off of Bridges of Madison County. Save yourself the time and just read Bridges!

Summary: Another Heartwarming Read
Review: Nights in Rodanthe is another heartwarming read from Nicholas Sparks. Predictable and short, yes, but still a good read. I am afraid he has grown a little complacent in his writing, but fortunately there are other writers like Mary Alice Monroe, Kirk Martin and Lisa Wingate who move me with deep, inspiring, and original stories.

Summary: Nicholas Sparks does it again
Review: Another masterpiece from Mr. Sparks. This book, as all his writings pull you right into the book. As you read this book, you experience what is going on in the story as if you were standing in the background. A must read book as is all his work.
Enjoyed reading very much.

Summary: An outstanding romantic novel
Review: "Nights in Rodanthe," by Nicholas Sparks is a phenomenal love story. I've read "The Notebook," "A Bend in the Road" and "A Walk to Remember" by Nicholas Sparks and with my past experiences reading his literature I knew to keep a box of tissues by my side. Sure enough I used about half the box reading "Nights in Rodanthe."

I must be honest, I'm not one to read a book in one sitting but sure enough I was up till 3 o'clock in the morning reading "Nights in Rodanthe." I couldn't put the book down. I had to know what was going to happen next or how it was going to happen.

I was a little disappointed with the way the book began because by page 7, I already knew how the book was going to end. Amanda, Adrienne, the main character's daughter, is going through a hard time due to the lose of her husband to cancer and accuses her mother of not knowing what she is going through. In the book, Nicholas Sparks writes "Adrienne had said nothing, but when Amanda left the room, Adrienne lowered her head and whispered a single word. Rodanthe." (Chapter 1, page 7)

Despite the fact I already knew the ending from that simple paragraph I still couldn't put the book down. I had to know every detail to Adrienne's story and how she and Paul, the love of her life, met, fell in love and hoped to spend the rest of their lives together. I had to know what kept them apart and even though I already knew what happened to them, I had to know how it happened.

I strongly recommend "Nights in Rodanthe" to all romanticist. The novel is full of romantic scenes and if you've ever been in love you'll be able to relate with Adrienne and Paul as they fall in love. The book is hard to put down and I often found myself rushing through one page to get to the next to find out what was going to happen. One word of advice, keep a box of tissues handy.
