Rating: Summary: NOT SO GOOD... but I'm FINALLY FINISHED! Review: I finally finished "Naught or NICE" by Eric Jerome Dickey. It took me a little longer than usual not so much because of my hectic schedule but mainly because it was a hard one to finish. I LOVE EJD as an author and I've read 9 out of his 10 books (I started on the 10th one last night) & Naughty or NICE was the first book that gave me trouble getting to the end. It had major potential but was a little hard to follow because it jumped between the 3 main characters.
I KNOW he did it in "Cheaters" but all of those character stories tied together in some clever way. Its like Something exciting and new would be happening to a character or be about to happen and then the chapter would end and it never picked back up at that part(very frustrating). I encourage discourage readers to go ahead and finished the novel and check out the "Acknowledgements" at the end of the book. ANYWANY I still have love for EJD and I'm happy to be reading "Drive me crazy" It should be a lot better than "Naughty or Nice" and honestly it was the book I wanted to by in the 1st place.
Rating: Summary: Where Is the Ending? Review: I own each and every book EJD has ever wrote, because I honestly believe he is a genious in his field. I can not put any of his books down, and this book was no exception. While this book (Naughty or Nice) is a great and fluid read, the ending left MUCH to be desired. While I have never seen EJD produce a sequal to his books, this book needs a part two....simply because too many things are left up in the air. Too much is unresolved, and it made the book unrealistic. Like I said earlier, the book is good, the endings are bad. The characters are highly developed, and then....nothing, just an abrupt ending that leaves questions that should not have to be asked. With the great development of the characters, I wanted a sense of completion, resolution, but there wasn't...just the end. Maybe there is a sequal in the works, but with an author of EJD caliber, I find that hope highly unlikely. Overall, good book, just not complete...in my opinion.
Rating: Summary: dont buy it Review: i dont think i enjoyed one of his books yet..i don't recommend this one. His style of writing is just wrong, and confusing. i dont think i'm bying any more of his books
Rating: Summary: More Naughty than Nice... Review: I must say that I really enjoyed this book. I read it in one day. In this story, we meet three sisters:
Frankie - very much in control of her finances, has investment properties, etc, but no man. She results to the internet to find a man, but after so many bad dates (some of which Mr. Dickey made me laugh), she quits that altogether.
Livvy - married and up against infidelity from her husband. In return, she "heats" up her life as well. Her intimate trysts are very exciting and good to read.
Tommie - bohemian style and formerly battered. As a result she is finding it hard to warm up to a man. She finds one of interest though and relearns how to just let go and let a man do his thing.
This book was very good. It held my interest from page one to the end. Mr. Dickey's writing style is very easy for me to read and I enjoy how he infuses humor and drama all in one. This is a must read!
Rating: Summary: Sisters Review: Frankie is the oldest of the McBroom sisters. She is wealthy and independent. She wears her hair natural, as most of Mr. Dickey's characters, and she exercises and takes care of her body. She knows what she wants in life and does not waste her time with ANY man that does not measure up. However, Frankie is going through the desert as far as romance goes and is feeling pretty hard up and desperate. No disrespect to the Internet lovers, she wants to meet someone special so bad that she sets up blind dates on the Internet. Her descriptions and reactions to her dates are humorous to say the least. Some readers might say that Frankie is cold but, in reality, she just keeps it real. Moreover, she speaks plainly with everyone, including her two younger sisters: Livvy and Tommy.
Livvy is the middle sister. She is not the typical middle child. You know the one that feels left out and the black sheep of the family. Nonetheless, she is the only one that is married but she has discovered that her husband is cheating. Livvy's story centers on how she handles her hurt and decides the fate of her marriage. Livvy confides in Tommy, the youngest sister, much more than Frankie. As I said, Frankie keeps it real. I have to admit that Livvy's story reminded me of "The Other Woman." You'll have to read this book to see if you would agree.
Tommy is the youngest sister. Although the reader finds out later that she is not actually related by blood to Livvy and Frankie, they treat her no different. Tommy lives in one of Frankie's rental properties. She is definitely the bohemian of the family. She wears her hair in a big Afro and dresses like a bohemian. Tommy is gorgeous but has not accepted her external and internal beauty. Tommy is on the rebound from an abusive relationship that she hid from her family. It has been more than a little while since Tommy last was involved with a man. However, her neighbor is starting to look very good. There is just one problem: he is about 10 years older, divorced and raising a four-year old daughter. What will Livvy and Frankie think of him?
I enjoyed this book immensely. The characters are strong, black women who are living and learning day by day in beautiful L.A. In my humble opinion, this novel, "Naughty or Nice," was definitely better than Mr. Dickey's last novel, "The Other Woman." Part of my reasoning is that in "Naughty," the characters are more real and the plot is not so far-fetched. Anyway, I really liked all of the characters in "Naughty." I enjoyed reading about sisters that are there for one another and not backbiting.

Rating: Summary: Good, but not as interesting. Review: I thought the book was very well written, but needed a little more excitement. It kept me interested most of the time, but could get a little boring. It was not as good as The Other Woman.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Review: "Naughty or Nice" is the story of three sister, Frankie, Livvy and Tommie. We are taken into the hearts of these young women as they struggle to make sense of their lives, their shattered loves and the loss of their loved ones.
The sisters draw strength from past memories of their beloved mother and father and even though they might not want to admit it, they learn how much they need each other, and how deep the bond of sisterhood goes.
At times this book is quite spicy and intense as we invade the lives of these sisters, and the author shows that in a family each can be different, with different needs and desires, however, the end result for them was a deeper commitment to one another and understanding to what is important.
Sex, love, hate, and life all tangled up in this steamy read, unraveled for the reader as they learn the bond of sisterhood.

Rating: Summary: I was very naughty after this book! Review: I loved it. I read it in a day in a half I could not put it down. Good work EJD.
Rating: Summary: Good Review: It took me soooooo long to finish this book. It was boring at times, and drug on to no point. I love Eric J. Dickey's writing, but this story really didnt seem to have a point. When I finished reading I was like "and???" I've read alot better.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: I just finished this book, and I must say...I am truly disappointed. This book sucked...the way it ended was terrible. Although some of the book was interesting, I found myself waiting for the book to pick up...well it never did. Not EJD's best work. I sure hope the next book is better.
